Effect of year, cultivar and size of seed potatoes on yield and quality of table potato tubers
CHUCHEL, Jan
In this thesis, the effects of year, variety and size of seed tubers on yield and quality of potato tubers were evaluated. In the two years (2011 and 2012), four potato varieties (Velox, Marabel, Adéla and Laura) were used. Size of seed tubers for all varieties was split into three size fractions: A < 35 mm, B 35-60 mm and C > 60 mm. In both years of observation were monitored following parameters: total and marketable yield, average number of stems per plant, number of tubers per plant, number of tubers per stem, the average weight of tuber, proportion of tuber size in harvested tubers, content of dry matter and starch in tubers fresh matter. Year contributed most to the total variability in total and market tuber yield (51.2%. And 54.4%, respectively). Size of seed tubers showed the highest proportion in the total variability of number of stems per plant (94.7%). Declared cooking type in all evaluated varieties was kept. Table value was significantly affected only by variety.

The natural seasonal changes in the food choice and digestive tract of wild ruminants
Kamler, Jiří ; Homolka, Miloslav
Herbivore populations all over Europe have been strongly influenced by human activities. A combination of harvest, changes in forest structure, supplementary feeding, predator extirpation and others factors have led in most cases to increases of their populations and a severe impact on the composition and structure of the forest vegetation. The food choice of free living ungulate species is strongly influenced by season and animal species and changes in diet composition and quality cause the changes in the digestive tract. Effective management of ungulate populations and forest ecosystems should be based not only on detailed information about the impact of deer browsing and the number of deer to harvest but also on the density of deer species, the food supply, the structure of diets consumed by individual species, attraction and quality of the individual components of food supply the total quality of food taken and seasonal changes in digestive tract.

Ftoreková, Michaela
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate how the quality of governance affected the economic output of the Balkan countries from 2002 through 2012. Partial indicators, such as Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom and the World Bank's The Worldwide governance indicators are used to measure the quality of governance and the level of corruption. The interdependence between governance and the economic output (GDP per capita) is quantified by means of correlation and regression analysis. The discussion part consists of three questions. The first question deals with how the involvement of the Balkan countries in the EU integration process affected their governance. The second question looks into the differences between individual post socialist countries as to how their governance influenced their economic output. The final question discusses what effect the governance of the Balkan countries had on their competitiveness. The results indicate that improving governance has a positive effect on the economic output of the Balkan countries.
