Convexity in stochastic programming model with indicators of ecological stability
Houda, Michal
We develop an optimization model dealing with construction expenses that are prescribed as a result of the EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) process. The process is an obligatory part of every large construction project and evaluates possible influences of the project to the environment, including population health, natural and other socio-economic aspects; the result of the process is a set of recommendation and arrangements the construction must meet. Our optimization model incorporates uncertainties in model parameters; we represent them through their probabilistic distribution. Furthermore, to overcome a problem with quantifying subjective utility function of ecological impacts, we measure them by so-called indicators of ecological stability. The resulting problem is stochastic programming problem formulated as (C)VaR model used traditionally in finance area. In our contribution we deal with convexity properties of this problem – these are especially important from the theoretical as well as from the computational point of view.

Assembling of request for financial support from operating program human resources and employment rate according to success of the former students at the job market in a period 2009 - 2010 who passed retraining program
VÁLKOVÁ, Pavla
The aims of my thesis was compiling a draft request for financial support from the Operational Programme Human Resources and Employment and compile it in accordance with the strategic materials, key economic and social characteristics contained in the OP HRE. The purpose was to incorporate graduates? experience from retraining courses, depending on the need to strengthen the integration of people at risk of social exclusion or socially excluded. The focus of the program is aimed at the priority axis "Active labor market policies" and "Social integration and equal opportunity." The content of individual activities is to increase competence in business, accounting, tax, and total financial and computer literacy, to improve opportunities in the labor market. The base of the request for financial support was drawing up the cost proposal for the training center project.

Limited-Memory Variable Metric Methods that use Quantities from the Preceding Iteration
Vlček, Jan ; Lukšan, Ladislav
In this contribution, a new family of globally convergent limited-memory (LM) variable metric (VM) line search methods for unconstrained minimization is presented. Numerical results indicate that the new methods can save computational time substantially for certain problems in comparison with the well-known L-BFGS method.

LP relaxations and pruning for characteristic imsets
Studený, Milan
The geometric approach to learning BN structure is to represent it by a certain vector; a suitable such zero-one vector is the characteristic imset, which allows to reformulate the task of finding global maximum of a score over BN structures as an integer linear programming problem. The main contribution of this report is an LP relaxation of the corresponding polytope, that is, a polyhedral description of the domain of the respective integer linear programming problem.

Creation of study supports for the subject "Computer simulations and engineering calculations"
FIKTUSOVÁ, Jana
This diploma thesis offers to the reader the basic overview of the most used methods of computer simulation and accessible software which can be used for this purpose. The aim of the thesis is not a detailed description of individual procedures, but rather a creation of overview text which can be used by the reader as a material for the primary orientation to the given problems. The thesis is outlined as a proposal of the themes of lectures of the subject ?Computer simulation and calculations in technology?. The thesis is divided into three thematic blocks. In the first block, the reader is acquainted with the programming language MATLAB, with its possibility of application in study as well as in practice. The second block acquaints with the CAD systems and the last block presents a nearer usage of individual software applications during the solution of selected model situations.

Case study of Basic art school in Liberec, Frýdlantská - the specifics of work of a teacher in the educational-psychological context
MÁDLOVÁ, Monika
This work presents a case study of Basic art school in Liberec and concentrates on specifics in teachers´ work in this type of school. The theoretical framework of this research was made on the basis of technical literature. The practical part comprises a description of the Basic art school with special attention to the educational program of this school. This part also gives characterization of specifics in teachers´ work from the view of students, teachers and a headmaster.

Do emission trading schemes facilitate efficient abatement investments? An experimental study
van Koten, Silvester
The main policy objective of a cap-and-trade program is the cost-efficient abatement of pollutants or emissions. Whether a cap-and-trade program will realize cost-efficient abatement in practice is an open question. Earlier experiments on abatement-by-switching suggest that experimental participants make highly inefficient abatement choices and that allocation biases participants to over or under-abatement.

Abatement efficiency in experiments: learning and allocation effects
van Koten, Silvester
The main policy objective of a cap-and-trade program is the cost-efficient abatement of pollutants or emissions. Whether a cap-and-trade program will realize cost-efficient abatement in practice is an open question. Design issues may also be important for the effectiveness of cap-and-trade programs.

The influence of water areas on proposal of new land layout within comprehensive land arrangement
KAMENICKÁ, Šárka
In my work study I was evaluating na influence of water areas on proposal of new land layout within comprehensive land arrangement of Branná district. Analyzing current hydrology situation I found that in this location there are 17 ponds of measurement between 1 hectare and 43,5 hectares. To improve hydrology conditions I have suggested some appropriate actions. I was observing 8 ponds which were included in the program of Complex land adaptation running between 2006 and 2011. On the basis of maps of the ex-land registry, the estate cadastre and new digital maps of this area I was comparing measurement, differences in proportions and changes of property. Some amendments has been described in more detail.
