Creating programs for teaching signal and image processing
Novotný, Luděk ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the problém of creating interactive JAVA applets. The practical part of work consist of desing, development and debugging four applets. The first one clearly explains the issue of phasor theory, the second one shows frequency filtering of audio signals, the third one demonstrates artificial coloring of grayscale images and the fourth one creates Huffman code from input text. The theoretical part describes the JAVA language, advantages of applets and theory, which relates to particular applets.
Multimedia support of the course BSIS
Pasečný, Jan ; Šebesta, Vladimír (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
This paper takes aim at creating a consistent form of study materials, supplemented with illustrative examples, for Signals and systems subject. The thesis starts with basic characteristics of acoustic, image, biological and communication signals. Characteristics of linear signals and AD&DA conversion has been added to the next part and to complete the submission, discrete signals follow. Diploma thesis as a whole contains basic theoretical description of problematics, which it tries to supplement with interesting examples, connections, graphs and matlab scripts for illustrative presentation of mentioned problematics.
Testing of room acoustics
Toufarová, Tereza ; Špalek, Karel (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
This paper presents parameters of evaluation of acoustic quality of the space. It is divided into parts presenting physical principle of the origin and movement of the acoustic signal, principles of its processing with current technology and properties of the acoustic field. This is followed by an analysis of the musical part and notes on psychoacoustics. The document contains a description of relevant parameters of acoustic spaces and way in which we can reach desired results, including material analysis. The paper mainly focuses on description of relevant parameters of three acoustic spaces which were measured. The last part of the work is a program for elementary acoustical measurement, which can be provided by means of commonly accessible equipment such as a notebook or a personal computer.
Presentation of selected themes of BSIS in PPT-environment
Havlín, Radomil ; Šebesta, Vladimír (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
The bachelors thesis occupy by topics of the course BSIS, which can be presented by the multimedia and animation techniques in the presentation. In the introduction, these topics are given a different method of processing. In most cases, provides a modular solution by demonstration and argued spectrum signal. The chapters describe the operation with one, two signals at the time, the properties of Fourier transform with illustrative demonstration, the correlation with convolution, kvaziperiodické signals and the last chapter the spectrum of selective signals.
Music genre recognition using Music information retrieval techniques
Zemánková, Šárka ; Zvončák, Vojtěch (referee) ; Kiska, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma work deals with music genre recognition using the techniques of Music Information Retrieval. It contains a brief description of the principle of this research area and its subfield called Music Genre Recognition. The following chapter includes selection of the most suitable parameters for describing music genres. This work further characterizes machine learning methods used in this field of research. The next chapter deals with the descriptions of music datasets created for genre classification studies. Subsequently, there is a draft and evaluation of the system for music genre recognition. The last part of this work describes the results of partial parameter analysis, dependence of genre classification accuracy on the amount of parameters and contains a discussion on the causes of classification accurancy for the individual genres.
Research of dynamics features comparing audio records
Zemánková, Šárka ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kiska, Tomáš (advisor)
This work deals with the analysis of parameters related to the dynamics of sound recordings. It contains a brief description of the history of sound processing in analogue and digital form and the process of audio signal processing nowadays. The following chapter includes selection of the most suitable parameters for describing an audio recording, especially those describing the dynamics. This work further characterizes the methods used in similar researches in the world. There is also a system designed to calculate 43 dynamic parameters and the possibilities of their analysis are outlined as well. 35 different interpretations of one musical work were compared. Finally, the calculated parameters were drawn into scatter plots and evaluated using visual cluster analysis.
