This diploma thesis deals with the design of solution for the use of vegetation elements where is taking into account the theme of zoo-exposures. We analyzed the maintenance care of vegetation elements in the environment of zoological gardens, costs incurred and possibilities of their reduction. In this thesis are defined a basic concepts of zoology, zoological environment and concepts of greenery management. Part of the work is focused on analysis of the importance of zoos and zoogeographical and phytogeographic classification of exposures in relation to vegetation. The thesis deals with approaches to greenery management in outdoor expositions of individual runs and possibilities of care for vegetation in this area. Practical part documents vegetation elements in the model area, with calculated costs for their maintenance. The mentioned area is part of the Prague Zoo. The work also includes a methodical procedure for the protection of vegetation elements directly in the expositions. The result of this work is the creating of a general methodology that would help in the future with the selection and protection of vegetation elements in given outdoor expositions. The main idea of this work is to introduce the possibility to create a space that evokes the feeling of the homeland for animals by using vegetation elements and their natural habitats and creates the correct illusive impression of the overall composition.
