Attitudes to Smoking Prevention

Synopsis The subject of the bachelor thesis "Attitudes to smoking prevention" is the analysis of attitudes of secondary medical schools in Prague and of their students towards preventing smoking. The first part of the thesis summarizes the historical and contemporary view on the subject of smoking from a general standpoint and it emphasizes the negative effect of smoking on the human organism. The thesis also mentions preventative measures and health programs. The second part is based on my own research and it contains a comparison of two secondary medical schools and also an analysis of said research. Here I deal with the view of students on the issue of smoking in particular and list my own practical suggestions.

History of Nursing in Mladá Boleslav Region

v anglickém jazyce This bachelor thesis investigates history of nursing in the region of Mladá Boleslav. The aim of the thesis is to shed the light on the history, development and the current state of nursing in the Mladá Boleslav region. The thesis is written from historical point of view. The thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter 1 describes the nursing care in prehistoric times and documents the prehistoric settlement of Mladá Boleslav. Chapter 2 focuses on the nursing in the Middle Ages and special attention is given to the formation of hospitals in Mladá Boleslav region. Chapter 3 describes the nursing from the period of Enlightment till the end of the First Republic. The chapter focuses on the cholera outbreak, the establishment of the military and district hospital and the psychiatric hospital. Chapter 4 discusses the nursing from the end of the World War II up to the present. The chapter analyzes the development of the district and psychiatric hospitals after the Second World War. Chapter 4 also looks at the establishment and the development of the nursing school in Mladá Boleslav. Chapter 5 puts forward the memories of nurses who worked in Klaudian Hospital in Mladá Boleslav. PREFERENCES OF SPECIAL-INTEREST ACTIVITIES OF STUDENTS AT SECONDARY MEDICAL SCHOOLS

In the theory part of the Diploma work I deal with students´ interest activities and factors that influence them. In the empirical part of the Diploma work I tried to find out the information about the students´activities in their free time, satisfaction with the interest activities organised by nursing colleges and students´participation in these activities. The objective of my work was to find out which of the interest activities are popular and unpopular. I formulated three hypotheses. I chose the questionnaire as a research technique. The research was taken in nursing colleges. The objectives of my Diploma work were fulfilled. The three stated hypotheses were confirmed.
