Coordinated rehabilitation segments used in a selected group of individuals with DMO (combined disability) in center ARPIDA in České Budějovice
PYKALOVÁ, Jana
The thesis focuses on coordinated rehabilitation components, which are used at individuals with cerebral palsy (combined disability) in a concrete non state medical institution in České Budějovice. Cerebral palsy is the most frequent neurodevelopmental disease, wherein the health disability may occur in one or more fields. We can find crucial factor in care of individuals with handicap in coordinated rehabilitation, which is currently perceived as an interdisciplinary field seeking the fastest and widest participation of personal with disabilities in all usual activies of society with the use of medical, educational, social and labour resources. A prerequisite for success is a multidisciplinary team (circular support), which consists of experts and parents of individuals with disabilities. The thesis contains theoretical background, where health disbility, coordinated rehabilitation and cerebral palsy is mentioned, at which the occurrence, forms, associated disorders and treatment are described. A separate chapter is devoted to families of individuals with health disability, where I mentioned the reaction of parents on the birth of a child with a disability, the impact of disability on the family and family support. Furthermore I focus on social services for handicapped people and to ARPIDA centre, where my research took place. In the research section there is defined the aim of the thesis, which was to chart a coordinated rehabilitation components, which are used at individuals with cerebral palsy (combined disability) in ARPIDA centre in České Budějovice. The partial target of my thesis was also to compare the usage of coordinated rehabilitation components at individuals under 15 years of age and at individuals over 15 years. According to target of the work there were developed three hypotheses. Thesis research was conducted through quantitative research. To obtain the data, I used the method of questioning. The sample was comprised of individuals with cerebral palsy (combined disability), who attend the centre ARPIDA, while the questionnaires were filled out by their parents. The research undertaken within the thesis, which was supported by rehearsed literature, confirmed the third hypothesis of more often usuage of Vojta reflex locomotion method at individuals with cerebral palsy in the centre ARPIDA compared to individual therapeutic physical training. The remaining two hypotheses were disproved. Statistical survey also shows that care for people with cerebral palsy is a long-term care, where interconnection of services within the coordinated rehabilitation is needed. In the group of individuals under 15 years of age and over 15 years it has been used different coordinated rehabilitation components, this is associated with cerebral palsy, disorders, age and other factors. Problematic remains the job placement of individuals with disabilities, who remain at home without further stimulation possibility. Care and services in the centre ARPIDA were assessed positively. The results and conclusions of the thesis will be used as a feedback centre ARPIDA to map the coordinated rehabilitation components and further to the clearing of needs of single coordinated rehabilitation components in a group of individuals under 15 years of age and over 15 years.

Boleslavská, Yvona ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; doc.Ing.arch.Peter Daniel,PhD. (referee) ; Ing.Kateřina Poláčková (referee) ; Urbášková, Hana (advisor)
This dissertation Barrier-free Work Environment examines and emphasizes some elements, which are projected and will be projected even more into architectural production – architect’s work. Buildings designed specially to create a working environment accessible for disabled people are of a current interest and they will become a very prominent subject of social development in the future, because it will be necessary to react sensitively to the disproportions in human abilities and in the society’s capability to create new workplaces, implement progressive technologies, computer systems, and last but not least, to react to new possibilities of people’s creative invention. This thesis is based on the key definitions for this topic – the terms health and handicap. It is aimed at the ethics of communication in a society and its perception by a person with some kind of disability – handicap. This thesis also analyzes the limits of human possibilities in the context of contemporary and future progressive technologies. The topic of accessible workplaces necessarily derives from the historical development of workplaces, and it indicates the future trends of development. An important part of this thesis is concerned with the conditions for creating a friendly working environment, not only from the aspect of the construction itself, but mainly by the interior design, its flexible furniture, and special work tools not only for the handicapped. This dissertation and its contribution to the scholarly research are based on evaluation of an opinion survey, whose respondents were companies employing handicapped people. The analysis and consequent synthesis of the answers given by the employers of the disadvantaged people brought pieces of information, which are summarized in conclusions and recommendations.
The evacuation of schools and school facilities for children, pupils and students with special educational needs in South Bohemia
PAVELKOVÁ, Petra
This thesis deals with the problems of schools and educational institutions in the South Bohemian Region in terms of their preparedness to evacuate children and students with special educational needs. This thesis assesses the preparedness and awareness of individual schools. The work is divided into two parts, a theoretical part and a research part. The theoretical part deals mainly with evacuations as a reaction on an emergence of an incident or crisis. Evacuation applies to people of all ages. Evacuation is divided in several respects. This includes aspects of the measures adopted, where we put area evacuation and building evacuation. Another aspect is that of selecting persons involved in the evacuation; then it is universal and partial evacuation. Evacuation is also divided according to its duration, into the short term evacuation, long term evacuation and an exit. Evacuation divided according to the mode of implementation is driven evacuation, spontaneous evacuation and self-evacuation. The last division of evacuation, division in terms of danger, divides evacuation into direct and indirect evacuation. Further in the thesis I deal with evacuations planning. I analyse evacuation plan as a part of the emergency plans of the region. I also discuss the planning of evacuation in emergency planning zones. One of the subsections discusses also a plan for the evacuation of people, as an integral part of the external emergency plan which is elaborated for a nuclear facility or a workplace of 4th category. Other subchapters deal with evacuation plans of organizations preparing an internal emergency plan, evacuation plans as part of flood protection and evacuation plans of other legal entities and individuals. An important chapter in the theoretical part is the educational system in the Czech Republic. Here I proceed mainly from the Act no. 561/2004 Coll., on preschool, primary, secondary, higher professional and other education (Education Act) and amending other laws, as amended. There are different kinds of schools. These species include kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, conservatory, higher vocational school, elementary school of arts and language school with the state language examination. Other types of schools are special schools. Among special schools we include kindergarten for visually impaired children, elementary school for the visually impaired, high school for the visually impaired, conservatory for the visually impaired; nursery school for the deaf, school for the hearing-impaired, high school for the hearing impaired; kindergarten for the deaf and blind, primary school for deaf and blind; kindergarten at health care facilities, primary school at health care facilities, special primary school at a health care facility; nursery school for the disabled, a school for the disabled, a secondary school for the disabled; speech therapy kindergarten, speech therapy elementary school; special kindergarten, elementary practical school, special school, vocational school, practical school; elementary school for pupils with learning disabilities, primary school for pupils with specific behavioural problems. Special schools are attended by children, pupils and students with special educational needs. These children, pupils and students can have different kinds of disability. According to the Act no. 108/2006 Coll., on social services, we divide disability into several groups, into visual impairment, hearing impairment, mental disability, physical disability, internal disability, speech impairment, combined handicaps and we also include mental illness, seniors and parents of children with disabilities to these groups. These individual disabilities are characterized later in the thesis.

The attitude and the role of siblings of children with strong handicaps in family
BERGEROVÁ, Denisa
Family, a basic and irreplaceable institution presents above all an emotional environment, a sense of security, love and safety not only for a child but also for other family members. A child creates close relationships within the family not only with their parents but also with siblings. A relationship between siblings offers an emotional support, an opportunity to share both joys and worries but also cooperation and conspiracy against parents. Siblings can offer help in difficult times in life, on the other hand conflicts may arise between siblings and rivalry and jealousy appears. The birth of a child with a severe disability presents an enormous challenge for the parents but the effects of this situation on siblings have not yet been sufficiently described. This sibling relationship can be more emotional, has its specifics and unmistakable quality. This bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The first chapter focuses on family its functions, educational styles and current family trends. The second chapter is focused on disabilities, which are further divided into basic types, such as bodily, sensory, mental and combined. In the third chapter we focus more on a family with a heavily disabled child and we devote the last chapter to siblings, especially to those with a disabled sibling. The practical part aims to describe the situation of siblings of children with a severe disability and to find positive aspects of the situation. I also tried to find out what demands does the family put on these siblings and if these siblings show tendencies to pro-social behavior , especially in the area of interests, education and career. The practical part was done using qualitative research, namely the method of questioning. The technique used was a semi-constructed interview. The experimental research was conducted in April 2015. The selective sample included two groups of respondents. In the first group there were siblings of people with severe health disability; in the second were siblings of people who were intact, meaning a sample of common population. The results of the experimental part follow after every round of respondents' answers. It is clear from the results that siblings of people with severe disability have the same duties in the household as the siblings of the intact ones. However, higher demands are put on them, when it comes to taking care of their sibling. None of the respondents thinks that they would have had less duties had their sibling been healthy. The results of the research showed that siblings of people with severe disability have higher predispositions for such personality traits that increase the tendency to pro-social behavior. They display empathy, a sense of social awareness, they also "feel protective" of their sibling and they feel selfless and patient. The interests and hobbies of siblings of children with a severe disability do not differ from interests of siblings of children without it. It is the siblings of children with a severe disability, however, who spend their free time with their sibling. They also more often work as volunteers. This thesis could be most useful for parents and siblings of people with a severe disability, because it can help them find a different perspective on the matter it will be a feedback of a sort. The thesis can also be used by students, who are preparing to work in helping professions, because it will help them orient in the matter. It could also be used by people who work in helping professions. Last but not least, it could be used to create material concerned with this matter.
Respite care for individuals caring for a disabled family member.
KUBÍČKOVÁ, Adéla
The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is composed of individual chapters and their subheads. The first chapter focuses on disability, its technical summary and division. The following chapter deals with a situation of a family into a disabled child is born and describes a model of mental crisis affecting parents who face this fact. The final chapter is focused on respite care itself, its division, and outlines particular activities and acts offered by respite care. The aim of the practical part was to find out if the families who care of their disabled member are aware of the respite care services and if they have an opportunity to take advantage of them. The partial aims of the thesis try to find out if parents make use of respite care services in their neighbourhood and what ways of relaxing the home caring family members have. Three basic reserch questions were set. 1. How much are the families burdened with the care of their disabled member? 2. Do the parents know any institutions in their neighborhood providing respite care services for caring families? 3. Do the home caring parents have an opportunity to take advantage of an institution with respite care services? A qualitative research was chosen to work out the practical part of the thesis. A method of inquiries, namely interviews, was selected to collect a particular item of information. In the form of half-structured interviews the research was realized between january and april 2015. Purposefully, families with a disabled family member were chosen from the South-bohemian region, namely from Soběslav and Tábor surroundings. Most of the researched families have other healthy offsprings and only two of them are complete. One of the interviews was carried out with a grandparent. In the other four families mothers who have a disabled child in the age from seventeen to twenty-four were interviewed. The fact is, that usually mothers stay with these children at home and play the biggest part in the care. I have chosen these respondents mainly due to the fact that I worked with their children as a volunteer. They have become my friends in course of the time. My mother was one of the respondents, too. In the final part, the cases interpretation focus on introducing the particular families and then the outcome report got from the interviews with family members, mothers in particular, follows. The research tends to show that the home caring families would like to take advantage of respite care services as the burden is enormous. Although the families are aware of the usefulness of respite care, they do not know any institutions offering this kind of services. Another findings concern ways of relaxing in home care families. They try to save time for themselves and find ways of relaxing. This bachelor thesis could serve as a source of information for the students, home caring families and social and health care workers.
The specifics of social integration of children with disabilities at primary school age in the extra-curricular education
FENCLOVÁ, Martina
The aim of this thesis was to analyse and compare the specifics of the social integration of pupils with disabilities at the lower school age, in the classroom and in after-school centres. In the first chapter of the analytical section, I address the specific notion of social integration, its definition and references to various possible explanations of this term. Further on, I characterized the process of integration of the individual into society and introduced some documents which are key to this process. The methodology for support of the development of the school curriculum in leisure and hobby training responds to the need to further develop the school curriculum within the school organisation. Because the success of social integration can be affected by a number of factors, it was necessary in this thesis to define them more closely. The second chapter dealt with the specifics of social integration of the pupil in the classroom and in the after-school centre. I address especially the possibility of use of support measures, diversity in the quality of schools and school organisations and of the teachers operating in them and others. After analysis of the above specifics, I moved onto to the realization of qualitative research. Research sample included pupils with visual impairments, Down syndrome and atypical autism. To obtain the data, I used the method of in-depth semi structured interviews, passive observation and the sociometric questionnaire B-4. Based on the collected data, I created three case studies. In each of them I compared the specifics of social integration in the classroom and in the after-school centre individually. To meet the objectives of the work I subsequently undertook a comprehensive comparison of these specifics. In some cases, the after-school centre and school class were the same. This was especially the case in the number of pupils. A higher number seems to be unfavourable for both facilities and limiting to successful integration. Also, the quality of teachers in both cases played a big role. I got very different results in the areas of the possibilities for pupils to self-realise and develop self-confidence. Although in both cases the initial possibilities and capabilities of the individual were the same, the possibility for self-realisation was provided much more effectively by the after-school centre. Within freely chosen leisure activities the integrated pupil has the opportunity to achieve success and fulfil its goals. This leads to classmates having a more positive perception of it and to easier integration. One of the surveyed areas was social interaction and space available for its implementation. For both facilities a teacher and their willingness to offer space is a precondition. Yet I came to the conclusion that the after-school centre offers this space more naturally and widely. This is due to the format and content of after-school centres, within which individuals have the possibility of constantly interacting and practicing their social skills. On the other hand, a major difficulty can be presented by children's hobby clubs. This is due to the numbers of pupils which are now attending these hobby clubs in place of after-school centres. After an overall comparison of the different specifics, it can be stated that it is not possible to say with certainty which facility offers better conditions for social integration. It always depends on the many factors which enter the process. These factors, of course, in the case of after-school centres play an even more significant role. Due to this variability, after-school centres can offer social integration a large space. Likewise they can to a large extent make integration of a pupil difficult or even impossible. The acquired outcomes of this thesis could be used by primary school teachers and educators in after-school centres as an incentive for addressing and improving the quality of integration of pupils with disabilities.
Belief in a just world in generationally diverse people
JELÍNKOVÁ, Barbora
This thesis investigates different perspectives and views on the concept of justice. The theoretical part analyses justice as a psychological construct as previously thoroughly explored by Professor Claudia Dalbert. Furthermore it studies the relationship between justice and punishment and investigates justice through the lens of the history of the Czech Republic and the World. Important historical figures that fought for justice are mentioned, as well as relevant historical events which had an impact on the perception of justice in the world. This thesis is aimed at describing and classifying the fleeting and quite abstract concept of justice. It discusses justice in relation to religion, ethics and morals. Most of respondents participating in this study were individuals with various forms of disabilities; for this reason multiple paragraphs of this study are concerned with disabilities and the ethical perspective related to them. Research was based upon the methodology of Professor Claudia Dalbert, who has granted a written permission for the use of her questionnaires. Each questionnaire consists of 17 questions and the answers were evaluated according to a six-item scale ranging from "strongly disagree" to "strongly agree". The aim of the research part was to identify the differences in just world belief between healthy population and individuals with disabilities varying in age. Four groups of respondents participated; two age categories (students 15 18 years of age and people from 45 60 years of age). Altogether 80 people from around the Czech Republic participated. The questionnaire is designed to measure the differences between three different perspectives: Personal belief in a just world (PBJW) explores the belief of a person that events related to his or her life are just. General belief in a just world (GBJW) then explores the belief that general events unrelated to a person's private life still influence his perspective and opinions. Such events, for example wars, even though geographically or personally unrelated to the individual, can still have a great emotional impact. The last perspective introduced in this study, belief in an unjust world (BUW), examines directly the individual's conviction that the world is unjust. The scales and charts presented in this thesis reveal the different levels of BJW of particular study groups. The PBJW scale results were more or less identical all respondents claimed events in their lives to be relatively just. No major differences in opinions between healthy and disabled participants were recorded. The most positive outlook on the justice in one's personal life was exhibited by individuals from group 45 60 years of age. When measuring the general belief in a just world, mostly students aged 15 18 inclined towards general injustice. Once again, the respondent's health status was in this case nearly irrelevant. The last research group exhibited unison of belief in an unjust world. Research group of people with disabilities aged 45 60 took a neutral stance. The results of this thesis, which was based upon the previous research of Professor Claudia Dalbert, fully coincided with her own results. Personal belief in a just world appeared mostly positive, dominantly in healthy respondent groups. General belief in a just world proved more negative. The research group of people with disabilities inclined more strongly towards general justice and neutral stance. The unjust world research showed people without disabilities to be more negative in their opinions, believing that the world is unjust, whereas disabled people again took more of a neutral stance.
