The importance of state and independent organizations in help to domestic violence victims.
VITOUŠOVÁ, Vendula
The theme of my Bachelor Thesis is "Importance of the Governmental and Nongovernmental Institutions in Help to the Victims of Domestic Violence." The Thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The latter is divided in five chapters. The first chapter defines the concept of domestic violence and describes the basic signs and forms important to recognize this phenomenon. Furthermore you can find here the most common myths and the characteristics of those involved in the domestic violence. Last but not the least; the work refers to the interdisciplinary cooperation. The second chapter describes the consequences the victims can face. The third chapter aims at granting assistance to the nongovernmental institution. Another chapter presents the relevant legal regulations of the Czech Republic, and the last one concentrates on the institutional actors, especially the police, court and the body of social and legal protection of children. The practical part concentrated on three aims. So as to fulfil the first one ``Confrontation of the Competence and Possible Measures of the Governmental and Nongovernmental Institutions Used in Protection of Those Endangered by the Domestic Violence{\crq}q, we chose the quality research and the technique of semi-structured interview. The research sample was made up by three representatives of governmental and three of nongovernmental institutions; eight questions were set in all. The last, eighth question gave an answer to the third aim {--} whether all the specialists had been trained sufficiently. So as to reach the second aim, we also chose the quality research and the technique of telephone interview. In this case, the research sample was made up by six victims. The Appendix contains the list of the information centres; there are fifteen of them within the Czech Republic at present. Moreover, the Appendix includes the Safety Plan and the statistics of the White Circle of Safety for the year 2009. On the basis of the research we set the hypotheses which are described in the chapter of Discussion. The Thesis aims were fulfilled. The Thesis might be a source both for the general public and those endangered by the domestic violence. I believe that there are a lot of inspiring and important information for the specialists in this problem.

FARKAŠOVÁ, Monika
Protection of a Person Suffering from Domestic Violence The bachelor{\crq}s thesis addresses protection of persons suffering from domestic violence with regard to the operation of Act No. 135/2006 of the Collection of Laws of the Czech Republic (Coll.). The theoretical part is divided into five parts. The first part characterizes domestic violence and describes its specific features and impacts on a person at risk. The second part addresses international protection of human rights. The third part is focused on the legislation in the Czech Republic. The fourth part characterizes individual kinds of help in cases of domestic violence. The last part contains data on the implemented researches and statistics. The objective of the bachelor{\crq}s thesis was to evaluate legal opportunities of protection of a person at risk and, among others, to compare the opportunities existing before and after Act No. 135/2006 Coll. came into operation, to evaluate practical utilization of the legal opportunities of protection from domestic violence from the view of both persons at risk and experts in the domestic violence issue, and to raise hypotheses on the basis of the research. The research was made by the qualitative method, in the form of a semi-structured interview. Eight respondents were selected from persons at risk (four from an intervention centre and four from a refuge) and from experts (four in total). The bachelor{\crq}s thesis has fulfilled the set objectives stated in chapters ``Results{\crq}q and ``Discussion{\crq}q. Hypotheses that can be verified by future quantitative research have been raised. On the basis of the research, I recommend focusing on the issue of cross-disciplinary cooperation in the future. New findings have been revealed, among others missing legislative measures regulating the contact between a child and the expelled parent.
The Issue of Domestic Violence in connection with the act (number ) 135/2006
STŘELCOVÁ, Hana
Domestic violence has been an urgent problem also in the Czech Republic. The necessity to solve its complexity upon level of the state, not only through non governmental, non-profit-making institutions, is especially expressed by adopting Act No.135/2006 Collection of Laws, by which some acts in scope of domestic violence protection are amended. This Act allows the Police of the Czech Republic to banish an offender committing domestic violence from mutual residence for a period of 10 days and the Act has established a new social service the so called ``Intervention Centre{\crq}q, i.e. a specialized facility that provides help with people who are endangered by domestic violence. The objective was to find out the level of public awareness, knowledge of the Intervention Centres in the Moravia-Silesian and Pilsen Regions. Within the first year of that Act operating, there were the least banished offenders v. s. number of inhabitants, just in the Pilsen Region and there were the most ones in the Moravia-Silesian Region. The theoretical work part describes forms of violence in the family, historical relationship of violent actions with women, possibilities how to prevent them or advised help measures to victims of domestic violence. Further, it is focussed on a legislative solution of that problem area in the Czech Republic and some of European countries or the USA as well. The practical work part involves results of a quantity research that was aimed to discovery of public awareness of the Intervention Centres. The research was performed by method of questioning in a way of a questionnaire. The research was focussed on consciousness of general public relating to domestic violence, whether the research respondents have ever met that phenomenon or what is their opinion on information effectiveness of the problem area. The research demonstrated low awareness of the Intervention Centres of inhabitants in both regions. However, most respondents know what domestic violence is. Nearly one third of interviewees have got certain experience with domestic violence. Majority of respondents consider the information on the Intervention Centres and domestic violence as generally useful. This work may be used to increase public awareness of the Intervention Centres or on the other side to provide the Intervention Centres employees with general public{\crq}s reflection as to availability and activity of the Intervention Centres.
