Aerodynamic design of wind turbine
Žabka, Marek ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
This Master’s thesis focuses on the wind turbines. It describes the basic attributes of the wind energy and the wind potential of Slovak Republic, as well as the environmental impact of this sector. Meteorological data for the selected location are processed according to the Weibull distribution and they are used for the aerodynamic design of the wind turbine blades. Aerodynamic design is processed by using two methods. The first is the blade cascade theory, which is used to design prismatic and twist blades. The second method is called the blade element momentum, which is used to design wind turbine but only twist blades are designed by using this theory. Calculated aerodynamic shapes are compared and the best economic solution for the selected location is chosen.
Wind power – the past, the presence and the future
Kučera, Vítězslav ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
This Bachelor’s thesis deals with the evolution of wind turbines from the past to present and also concentrates on the evolution of wind turbines in the future. In first part the begin-nings of wind energy use are given, and the first wind turbine is mentioned. Further, the parts of wind turbine and its construction are described in next part, where the current state of wind turbines in the Czech Republic and in the world is presented. New concepts of wind energy are introduced. Finally, last part performs wind turbine simulation over the span of one year.
Calculation of repowering potential for existing wind turbines
Hanslian, David
The energy production of considered new wind turbines, that could replace existing wind turbines, was calculated on the basis of data from current wind turbines. The data analyzed include wind speed, wind direction and energy production. The study includes detailed analysis of measured data, correction of discovered inaccuracies and correction for long-term wind conditions (measure-correlate-predict analysis).
Control Processes in Energy Systems with Alternative Power Sources
Morávek, Jan ; Kolcun, Michal (referee) ; Braciník, Peter (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
The dissertation is an publication summary focused on the field of management processes in renewable energy systems, mathematical models and optimization possibilities for large and small scale photovoltaic systems. The articles were published in foreign impacted and reviewd journals and indexed proceedings of foreign and domestic conferences. The main results of the dissertation are the design, configuration and realization of the hybrid energy system with subsequent optimization. Using the data from the laboratory system, a mathematical model was compiled and subsequently validated in the Matlab/Simulink environment for a hybrid energy system with accumulation. The options for power production optimization with photovoltaic sources are based on both operational measurements (for commercial applications) and on the analysis of power flow controllers to optimize the~energy balance (for small scale applications in private buildings).
Discussion of socio-geographic aspects of renewable energy sources in Czechia
Görcs, Jan ; Hána, David (advisor) ; Pulec, Jan (referee)
Discussion of socio-geographic aspects of renewable energy sources in Czechia Abstract Modern society is completely dependent on electricity supplies in every aspect of life and the economy. The task of every developed country is protection and ensuring sufficient energy in the required quality. Otherwise, the lack or interruption of supply may paralyze the country's life and economy. The current energy problem lies on the fact that it is based on non-renewable energy sources with limited quantity. In addition, they have a negative impact on the environment. Renewable energy sources also provide limited solutions to the situation. This bachelor's thesis therefore analyses the assumptions, possibilities and potential of the development of renewable sources in Czech electricity, in relation to the energy position, environment, electricity, society and economy. The aim of the thesis is critical evaluation of the pros and cons of the implementation of alternative energy sources in the energy mix. Key words: renewable energy sources, alternative sources of energy, energy mix, solar energy, wind energy, water energy
Evaluation of possibilities of renewable energy sources application in selected objects of the CHMI
Kudela, Tomáš ; Sládek, Ivan (advisor) ; Kůla, Bořivoj (referee)
This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the use of renewable sources of energy in practice, namely in the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) objects, such as professional meteorological stations or observatories. The first part of bachelor thesis deals with the description of the alternative energy sources, the principles of acquisition and processing for the needs of the energy industry. The second part relates to devices already installed in CHMI objects and zooms technological solutions and experiences with the operation of these facilities. The third part presents a proposal for the use of specific devices for selected CHMI objects. Key words: renewable sources of energy, solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, heat pumps, biomass, meteorological stations

Utilization of wind energy for delivery of liquids
Červinková, Kateřina ; Moravec, Prokop (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor is developing a deep search about uzilization of wind energy for delivery of luquids, which is transforming to mechanical or potential energy of the liquid. We can find history of wind pumps in this work. We can also read about pump overview, which are using for drive of wind energy, constructions and parameters. Finally they are advantages and disadvantages of transforming wind energy to mechanical energy or potential energy of the liquid against transforming to electrical energy.
Creation of laboratory exercises for Renewable sources of energy
Bajgl, Tomáš ; Jandová, Kristýna (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the transformation of solar and wind energy into electrical energy by using a photovoltaic panel and a wind turbine. The work gives insight into the Czech Republic’s issue of energetics in the context of historical development, the current state, and the expected future development. The primary attention is given to the renewable sources - the solar energy and wind energy. Basic principles of creation and manipulation of solar and wind energy are described in this work. Two laboratory tasks are created for the Renewable Energy Sources' class as a part of the practical part.
Barriers to the Development of Wind Energy Use in the Czech Republic
Lukeš, Petr ; Sládek, Ivan (advisor) ; Voják, Karel (referee)
The development of the wind energy exploitation is a sum of processes which are subject to variety of heterogeneous factors. The nature and the leverage power of those factors vary and develop over time. Each regional or national location can be characterized by variety of factors, which are specific for respective locations. The wind energy development in the Czech Republic is influenced by number of barriers which restrain or slow down further progress. These barriers stem from environmental, economical, social and institutional disposition/nature of respective technologies. This thesis at first, based on available qualitative and quantitative data, describes and analyzes the situation and development of the wind energy exploitation. Specifics of the wind energy are placed in the context of selected European countries where factors and barriers influencing the development is described. The theme is regarded with spatio-temporal distribution of a "new technology". The thesis goes on focusing on identification of barriers that have impact on the wind energy development in the Czech Republic. Those restrictions/barriers are subsequently confronted with stands and perception of specific stakeholders, which are involved in the process. Analyses are carried out not only on individual barriers but also...
