Commodity markets and the impacts of price development on the consumer price of goods
Zástěrová, Martina ; Zámečník, Petr (advisor) ; Smrčka, Luboš (referee)
The essay focuses on commodities and price development on the exchange, studies the impact of this on the consumer's prices of goods. It includes main factors influencing the price development of commodity on the exchange, the wheat was choosed as a representative commodity. The first part of the thesis is about commodity trading, exchanges and futures instruments. The other part informs about the wheat on the american market and about international trade in wheat. At the end of the thesis it is analysed the influence of the price development of wheat on the consumer's price of bread on the czech market. Also it is analysed the influence of inflation rate of Czech Republic. The thesis includes correlation analysis.
Analysis of selected commodities from investor's point of view
Škultéty, Daniel ; Trešl, Jiří (advisor) ; Václavík, Tomáš (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze investment options into wheat, corn and rice futures throughout different time horizons. Mostly we use daily closing prices for the last fifteen years. General knowledge of the field in context of nowadays is required to perform such an analysis. To achieve our goals we use technical analysis, time series analysis and we discuss the fundaments of price movements. Contribution of this thesis can be summed as presenting the basic tools of technical analysis in real world, presenting the fundamentals of price movements in one place and practical application of time series analysis on futures prices. By doing so we can confirm that random walk thesis is not unsubstantial but cannot be generalized for all instruments and periods of capital market.
The quality of wheat for food and feeding
MACHOVCOVÁ, Dana
The quality of wheat meant both for food industry and for feeding is evaluated with all deliveries from co-operative farms, concerns and private farmers every year. Factors which can influence quality of grain, criteria for evaluation of the wheat grain quality, their practical use in working conditions of the concern ZZN Pelhřimov (former Grana, a.s.) detached post Záhoří and results of accomplished tests compared with statewide average were described. Average values of the wheat in 2007 - 2010 demonstrated variability in each characteristics both in the chosen concern and in statewide average. Weather conditions influenced the quality of most parameters. Considerable difference in the quality of grain could be found with particular distributors. The proper agricultural engineering and good seed corn are essential preconditions of first-rate production.
Environmental load during production a processing of food wheat and production of bread
HYŠPLER, Robin
This thesis was made in co-operation with international project M00080- EUS-AT-SUKI Sustainable Kitchen, which is focused to make an inquiry of total emissions of carbon dioxide producted by catering estabilishments and finds possibilities of reducing these emissions. The thesis deals with an emission?s contamination of wheat flour and bread. Informations and data about agriculture, processing and transport of chosen commodities were collected from questionaires and scientific literature. The emission?s contamination of equivalent CO2 per kilogram of particular products and commodities was worked out from data and informations of the Ecoinvent database. The comparision between systems of management and regionality (ie. whether products are imported or local) is included. The main aim of this thesis was to prove whether the consumation of products from organic or conventional farming is environmentally more beneficial, the same comparision were made between regional or imported products
Alcohol Yield of Oat, Barley and Wheat Hydrolysates
PIKL, Miroslav
Major part of ethanol production for industrial use in Czech Republic is made from cereals. Effect of acid, alkali and enzymatic hydrolysis after thermopressure preparation takes part in the paper. The most promising alternative is enzymatic hydrolysis. Especially efficiency of different hydrolytic enzymes towards different species of cereals takes the main part of the simulations. Local farm products, oats, barley and wheat were prepaired by steam explosion in different pressure. After hydrolysis were detected the GE and after fermentation was observed the production of alcohol.
Seeds surface plasma modification
HRUŠKOVÁ, Iveta
Aim of diploma work is research of plasma influence on seed germination in some plant species (wheat and oat). The complex work includes parts both physical-technological and biological. The work discusses a selection of useful seeds for the plasma treatment and describes parameters of plasma processing. It discusses results of germination testing and early growth of seedlings. Parts of the work are electron microscopy output, data processing result, and appendix.
The issue of microscopic fungi in wheat
HORMANDLOVÁ, Jana
The aim of my thesis was to monitor the natural occurrence of mycological pathogens, especially funghi of genus Fusarium in ecologically and conventionally grown systems. There was carried out small-parcelled experiments at two standpoints (Lukavec and České Budějovice) in the years 2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009. The funghi of genus Fisarium attack the stalk, the leaves even the ear. If the ear is attacked, the production is decreased. The epidemical occurrence of this disease is supported by a large amount of cereals in the cropping pattern, nitrogen over-fertilization, thick grassland and bad agro technological proceeding, especially imperfectly nested plant remains. The genus Fisarium is very extensive in the nature. It often parasites at plants or live saprophyticly at production, post-production remains of plants in soil or at its surface. The mycelium furcates and forms cottonwoolen pinkish, red or yellowish film. Their malignity lies with the production of poisonous mycotoxins, which form as their secondary metabolites. They can cause the health problems at people and farm animals.
Induced resistence of wheat to pokery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici)
Věchet, L. ; Šerá, Božena ; Vrchotová, Naděžda ; Kolomazník, K.
Inducers of chemical, biological - plant origin and animal origin were used to inducing of wheat resistance to powdery mildew. The best effect had benzothiadiazol (BTH)inducer of chemical origin. From biological inducers ginger and giant knotweed, from animal origin the sample 2 had the best effect. The latest effective on decrease powdery mildew severity had the sample 4 from inducers of biological inducers it was curcuma.
