Gregor, David ; Třebický, Vít (advisor) ; Kovařovic, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Methods of rapid weight loss used by Czech combat sports athletes. Objectives: The aim of this research project was to determine the prevalence of rapid weight loss (RWL) methods and their specific forms in Czech combat sports athletes. Methods: To determine the use of the methods of rapid weight loss (RWL) we used a purpose- built online questionnaire that was distributed via social media. This research project was open to men and women over the age of 18 who were actively competing in combat sports in the Czech Republic. Although only certain data from men were used for this project. Results: We found, that 94,7 % of participants reduce their body weight before competitions. This reduction then averages 5.33 kg (SD = 3.42) of body weight. The most commonly used methods to reduce weight across combat sports athletes included reducing energy intake (59,1 %), water loading (38,1 %), restricting fluid intake (33,3 %) and more conditioning (28,6 %). Pre-competition reduction of body weight in MMA
Hrdlička, Jaroslav ; Coufalová, Klára (advisor) ; Pavelka, Radim (referee)
Title: Pre-competition reduction of body weight in MMA Objectives: The main aim of this work was to identify what weight reduction methods are used by professional MMA fighters and how many kilograms they reduce before fights. We also wanted to determine the time they start to work with their body weight and whether they feel any psychological changes or fatigue due to weight reduction. We were also interested in what supplements fighters use during weight cut. Methods: A survey method was used for data collection. The research sample consisted of 20 professional MMA fighters between the ages of 18 and 40. Results: We have found out that MMA fighters usually reduce their weight through reduced caloric intake and subsequent dehydration the most. The majority of respondents reported a reduction of 6 to 10 kilograms in the course of 2 to 4 weeks before the fight. Respondents feel weakened during weight loss and experience psychological impacts such as irritation, mood swings, aggression and sedation. Before the fight, 60% of fighters do not experience any signs of weakness, as the time period from weighting to the fight itself is sufficient to allow them to regenerate. The most commonly used supplements during weight loss are BCAAs, fat burners, proteins, multivitamins and multiminerals. Keywords:...

The specific categories studied were velterweight and light heavyweight. Methods: An observation method was used to create statistics from watched videos. Two consecutive World championships served as a data source. The first one took place in 2013 in Almaty, the second two years later in Doha. MS Excel was used to process data. Results: It was found that more active in terms of attacks was the weight category up to 69 kg, but not more successful. More precise hits have been used by the light heavyweight category. The most commonly used technique was a direct followed by a hook and uppercut. Punches to the body were in the sum total of about 12 % and they were much more effective than strikes to head. Evaluation of performance of different size excavators
MACH, Milan
The aim of my thesis titled Evaluation of performance of different size excavators was to select five excavators ranked in different weight categories and subsequently to compare their actual performance. I monitored the actual length of one cycle on the basis of which the real performance of each excavator was determined. These results were mutually compared and summarized.
