Identification of the extent of necessary support provided to children and adults with physical and combined disabilities

The bachelor thesis is focused on identifying the extent of the necessary support provided to children and adults with physical and combined disabilities within day care centres and week care centres. The aim of the work is to find out how the necessary support is implemented for these users, to find out which methods are used by social service providers to determine the extent of the support, how the necessary support is transformed into individual planning, and how individual planning works within the regular practice of the social worker. The theoretical part of the thesis describes physical and combined disabilities, defines the work of the social worker and social services, evaluation and overview of the necessary support provided to children and adults with physical and combined disabilities and it also contains chapters focused on individual planning. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis, a qualitative research survey using the method of semi-structured interview has been carried out, and a sample of respondents from the social workers working in day or week care centres in the Czech Republic have been approached. Research questions on methods of identifying the extent of the support needed for children or adults with physical and combined disabilities and methods of using these findings in the individual planning of the course of the social service have been identified. Respondents' responses have been processed by the open coding methodology.
