Krňávek, Martin ; Frýba, Lukáš (referee) ; Kropáč, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor‘s thesis deals with technologies for energy utilisation of biomass and waste. The introductory part is dedicated to biomass, its division and sources of biomass suitable for thermal treatment. The main part describes and compares technological units for energy utilisation of biomass, which is important for the Czech market. Furthermore there is described selected technologies for flue gas cleaning suitable especially for thermal treatment of waste. A basic design calculation of technological unit fired with wood chips for combined heat and power production is included here.
Models and approaches in the field of computer simulation of processes
Čech, Michal ; Ferdan, Tomáš (referee) ; Touš, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with computer simulation of processes in the field of energy utilization of waste and biomass. The first part contains description of energy utilization from waste and biomass and fundamental devices of energy systems. There is also described methodology of modeling and techniques used for processes simulation. The next part is focused on mathematical models explanation of processes with constant and variable efficiency. In practical work are compared results from individual considered mathematical models with real data which were obtained from the real operation of waste energy plant. With use of gained mathematical models is considered model situation of cogeneration in the device of biomass and coal co-firing. At the end of this work is suggested implementation of created mathematical models into simulation program W2E.
Waste-based renewable energy production
Strapko, Tibor ; Touš, Michal (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
Following diploma thesis deals with waste-based renewable energy production. Waste is a very heterogeneous mixture consisting of various materials with different origin. This can be either fossil or biogenic. The very substances with biogenic origin are considered renewable energy source with financial support from state. Therefore is nowadays tendency to develop a method, which can determine the biogenic waste ratio. The method, aside possible cheapest price and simplicity, should be also reliable and easy reproducible due to its usage. At the beginning, thesis focuses on the waste-to-energy facilities. Important part deals with legislative side of this topic. The reasons, why Czech Republic is behind with thermal waste treating are stated as well as Czech Republic’s obligations to European Union in the field of biodegradable municipal solid waste. Main part of thesis deals with different methods to determine biogenic waste ratio in municipal solid waste. Step by step are introduces 4 known methods, where especially sorting, balance and 14C methods are described closely. By each method are stated its major benefits and handicaps in case of using. Finally, the computational model, which is based upon balance methods equations, is introduced following with feasibility study of balance method for local conditions. The very end of the thesis brings comparison of each method results, general summary, where are results of this thesis stated and possible trends for future in this area of expertise, as well.
Up-to-Date Medium Capacity Waste-to-Energy Unit
Krišpín, Jan ; Krejčí, Tomáš (referee) ; Bébar, Ladislav (advisor)
The submitted Master Thesis deals with the technological/mechanical solution of an up-to-date medium capacity waste-to-energy plant. Operational requirements and basic parameters related to a concrete region are specified in the introduction of the Thesis. This is supplemented by a flow-sheet of the plant with the description of main process subsystems. To meet the goals of the Thesis basic balance information is summarized and related schemes included. These data represent principal inputs for the on-site plant as well as basic parameters for the design of key equipment. These pieces of equipment are schematically drawn including their basic parameters and a description of construction. All the available innovative solutions are taken into account. The Thesis provides also a technical-economic analysis for being able to evaluate the overall project.
Incineration plant of middle treatment capacity – flue gas cleaning system
Krejčí, Tomáš ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Bébar, Ladislav (advisor)
Analysis of the regional energy supply, shows that suitable alternative may be a combination of primary energy sources with the municipal solid waste to energy plant. Starting from the fact that the regional thermal energy needs are characterized by smaller power demand, but relatively significant seasonal fluctuations in heat supply. These factors limit the processing performance of the considered waste to energy plant that could be included in the system of regional energy supply. The aim of the thesis was to propose adequate treatment capacity for regional waste to energy plant and explore alternative solutions in off-gas cleaning for exhaust gases generated during incineration of MSW. The balance sheets of two alternative solutions off gas cleaning are part of the thesis, both in terms of material and energy consumption. Presented evaluation of economic demands alternative arrangement of off gas cleaning includes operating costs and the impact on earnings from energy production.
Energy recovery of waste
Vala, Michal ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Moskalík, Jiří (advisor)
The first part of this thesis sums up problems arising from waste production and compares different ways and technologies of waste treatment. Second part of this thesis focuses on one of these ways, on the incineration of waste with energy recovery. It discusses specifics and possibilities of this technology and describe current situation in the Czech Republic.
Waste utilization
Čech, Roman ; Suzová, Jana (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
In this task we will talk over the problems in this current society from the aspect of waste production and treatment in European Union. We will classify the waste distribution to the categories, we will focus for the legislatives and the standards of waste management. Also we will preview the production statistics and waste logistic in the Czech Republic and EU. We will focus even for the waste processing like a material for the energy production and development of waste economy hypothesis.
Waste heat recovery vith steam turbine
Korytár, Zbyněk ; Vlček, Lukáš (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the design of municipal waste incinerator using the generated steam for power generation and distribution of heat. At the beginning is engaged in development of waste issues and the current state of waste management. The next section describes the options of waste treatment and possible solutions to the current state of waste issues. The concept of waste incineration plants: For waste incineration is used line for burning 100,000 tons of municipal waste per year.Combustion takes place in a grate boiler. Its advantage is the versatility and flexibility to waste. Electricity generation is dealt with condensing turbine with controlled consumption. The flue gas cleaning is designed to semi-wet method. The final stage involves the calculation of the balance, the calculation of electric energyand basic economic evaluation.
