Effective use of industrial waste in building materials
Szép, Melinda Klaudia Virág ; Mészárosová, Lenka (referee) ; Černý, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with one of current topics, namely to effective use of industrial waste in building materials. The theoretical part of this work presents changes in legislation of the Czech Republic in field of waste management system, explains the most important terms and defines each method of waste management. The main goal of this work was to formulate a methodological procedure for efficient use of industrial waste. The methodological procedure was compiled on the basis of elaborated base set of possible variants of waste utilization in the construction sector and a set of corresponding criteria of standards and legislative criteria. A table of elementary criteria has also been compiled for the better orientation in corresponding standards. The proposed methodological procedure was demonstrated on specific example, in fact on slag from municipal waste incineration. The slag was examined in two environments – one with standard laboratory condition and the second with controlled condition (8 % concentration of carbon dioxide and 80 % of relative humidity) – for better understanding of its behaviour. The expected acceleration of the aging process in the environment with controlled condition was confirmed based on the degree of carbonation. The expected reduction of volume changes of the sample exposed to the controlled condition was also confirmed.

Kalinová, Gabriela ; Sobotka, Michal (advisor) ; Fabšíková, Tereza (referee)
Legislation of waste management Abstract This thesis deals with the legal regulation of municipal waste management in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the changes related to the adoption of new legislation related to waste management and to assess whether the available instruments are sufficient to achieve the objectives set by both national and EU legislation. The thesis is devoted to presenting the state of waste management with an emphasis on municipal waste in the Czech Republic using available data. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the sources of legislation, with an emphasis on EU legislation and on the legislation that was the basis for the currently applicable legislation. It also includes definitions of basic terms and individual entities, which may include the waste producer, facility operator, waste dealer, or waste broker. The main part of the work is devoted to the position of the municipality and its relationship with natural persons, legal entities, and waste collection companies. It also addresses the methods of municipal waste management that are heavily used in the Czech Republic, which include recycling and landfilling. The assessment of the sufficiency of the available instruments is based on an analysis of legislation, general binding municipal ordinances...
Legal regulation of municipal waste management in the context of the circular economy
Ambrozková, Zuzana ; Sobotka, Michal (advisor) ; Damohorský, Milan (referee)
V ANGLICKÉM JAZYCE The thesis deals with the legal regulation of municipal waste management in the Czech Republic in the context of circular economy. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether the current legislation provides sufficient instruments for the transition to a circular economy in the field of municipal waste management or whether the Czech legislation is insufficient in this respect; and to suggest areas that could be supported by appropriate legal instruments. The starting point for this examination are EU Directives (in particular the Waste Framework Directive, the Landfill Directive and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive). The legal sources examined from the Czech environment are mainly a couple of new waste management laws from 2020: the Waste Act, the amended Packaging Act, the End-of-Life Products Act and the amendment to the Local Fees Act. The thesis further deals with the so-called recycling targets, which in terms of current municipal waste management methods represent rather ambitious targets for the level of preparation for reuse and recycling of municipal waste. The same challenge for the Czech Republic's waste management is posed by the target of maximum municipal landfill waste by 2035. Attention is paid to the actors in the field of municipal waste...

Legal regulation of municipal waste management
Pavlík, Jozef ; Sobotka, Michal (advisor) ; Humlíčková, Petra (referee)
The main goal of my thesis is to map the legal regulation of municipal waste management in the Czech Republic. The reason for the study of the legal regulation is to establish whether the regulation has sufficient instruments to treat the municipal waste in compliance of the waste management hierarchy that is grounded in the European Union's Waste Framework Directive. The thesis also deals with the different concept of the municipal waste in Czech and European legislation. It mentions the differences that would be carried out to the field of municipal waste by the planned legislation.
