Horsemanship as a Leisure Interest
LADMANOVÁ, Nikola
The diploma thesis examines how people who spend their leisure time with horses and describe themselves as "horse-riders" reflect on this interest. In addition to a brief theoretical insight and reflection of the author's own experience, the thesis includes qualitative research. In interviews with six respondents, the following topics were identified: relationship between human and horse, care-as-worry, responsibility, horses as a part of life, path full of ups and downs, time with the horse, self-development, riding vs. renting or owning a horse, community and stable atmosphere, all kinds of horse-people, being misunderstood. A substantial part of the thesis is also a discussion in which the results of the research are put in context with the studies and conclusions of other authors.
