Jesenská, Denisa
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the impact of the introduction of the euro on the competitiveness of the automotive industry in Slovakia and to compare it with development in the Czech Republic. First, the thesis describes the development and importance of the automotive industry to the Slovak and Czech economy and then it concentrates in more detail on the car factories operating in these countries. The next part deals with suitable methods for determining the presence of a structural break in revenue time series in the examined car factories. Furthermore, this part defines relevant financial indicators that can be used to compare the development of competitiveness of car factories in both countries. Another part of the thesis searches for the structural break in the model and then it compares the car factories in Slovakia and in the Czech Republic by means of financial indicators before and after the introduction of the euro in Slovakia.

Hlavatá, Linda
The Slovak Republic has been using the euro as a common currency of the euro area since 2009. At the time of the adoption of the new currency, the consequences of the global financial and economic crisis which no pre-accession estimates took into account had become evident. From the time perspectives, after 9 years a medium-term horizon is created for evaluation of the so-called indirect impacts, whose common characteristics are their reflection after a long-period of time as well as their interconnection. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the development of: economic openness, foreign trade, foreign direct investments, economic growth, and standard of living in the Slovak Republic following by the comparison of the real results with the expected ones determined by the analysis of the National Bank of Slovakia in 2006. The values of indicators are then compared to the Czech Republic with which the Slovak Republic had been functioning and which still continues to use its own currency - the Czech crown.
