Vice Presidency in the U.S. Executive Branch
Dohnal, Vojtěch ; Kotábová, Věra (advisor) ; Kubátová, Hana (referee)
The thesis deals with the vice-president's office of the USA, his powers and his position in the American executive. Considering relatively limited constitutional definition of the vice-presidency, also circumstances of the historic evolution of election this function and issues of vice-president's succession to the presidential office are the subjects of my thesis. The vice-president's selection in the United States of America used to be for many reasons a very important and by the public desirously awaited decision of a presidential candidate before presidential elections. This is the reason, why the thesis deals also with the issue of the impact of the vice-president's nomination on a presidential campaign.
