Stress-strain analysis of anastomosis between artery and artificial vascular graft
Hrubanová, Anna ; Švancara, Pavel (referee) ; Burša, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with anatomy and pathology of arteries and possibilities of their replacement with vascular grafts. The first part of the thesis describes structure and mechanical properties of arterial wall. Furthemore, the biological and mechanical properties of vascular grafts and their influence of healing process are described. The second part of this thesis starts with non-linear calculation of deformation of arterial wall using generalized Hooke’s law. The analytical calculation of connection of artery and vascular graft using cylindrical momentum shell theory was made at the end of this thesis. Description of limitations of this method is also included.
Overview of treatment modalities of arterial aneurysms
Holubář, Oldřich ; Zemánek, Miroslav (referee) ; Burša, Jiří (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create an overview of types of arterial aneurysms, their most frequent locations, possibilities of their treatment and technical devices and equipment which is used in this cases of treatment.
Alternative autologous vascular grafts in cardiovascular surgery
Loskot, Petr ; Tonar, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Stingl, Josef (referee) ; Šebesta, Pavel (referee)
Introduction: Cardiovascular surgery is a relatively young but progressively evolving field in medicine. More specifically, in the past decades, cardiac surgery achieved significant advances in understanding the causes, progression and treatments of ischemic heart disease (IHD). The IHD is the most common coronary disease, and it ranks first in morbidity and mortality in the developed world. It justifies the need for significant fundamental research as well as its study in clinical practice. It now includes specialized cardiovascular centres with the complex specialized treatments. A group of interventional cardiologists capable of performing routine examinations of the coronary veins using selective angiography has been established. They can eventually also perform percutaneous coronary interventions with direct stent implants. Thus the advances have been made in comprehensive indication of the patients towards their optimal treatments under the regime of a cardio-team. Such team comprises of a cardio-surgeon, interventional cardiologist, echocardiography specialist and the attending physician who is usually the cardiologist. The IHD treatments involve preventive cardiology with the regime measures and checks, pharmacotherapy, interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery to spa treatment and...

Simulations of the haemodynamics in the elatic model of vascular graft
Konfršt, Jiří
The paper presents simulation of blood flow in elastic model of crimpted vascular graft (produced by VÚP-Brno CZ; type Ra; internal diameter 9 mm). The LDA method has been used for the investigations of pulsatile flow inside the model. Measurements are realised using three Re numbers with Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid, wich simulate rheological characteristics of blood.
