This thesis focuses on school meal programs, teenage nutrition and related issues. It describes school meal programs in the Czech Republic as well as their history and present situation, presents fundamental legislative requirements and addresses well known nutrition habits of adolescents and possible related health issues. The practical part includes information on quantitative research using questionnaire survey method and assesses representative students nutrition awareness, nutrition habits, and their approach to healthy lifestyle. The results of the survey are evaluated both statistically and verbally and show the differences based on age, gender and area of studies. The work also deals with students attendance and satisfaction with school canteens.
