Comparison of balers for cylindrical bales Massey Ferguson RB 4160 V Xtra a John Deere 854 MaxiCut

The bachelor thesis is prepared for the comparison of Massey Ferguson RB 4160V Xtra and John Deere 854 MaxiCut balers. Balers are primarily used for baling silage and straw with a small amount of hay. A Massey Fergusson RB 4160V Xtra baler is aggregated with a Massey Fergusson 6485 tractor on a 120 ha farm. A John Deere 854 MaxiCut baler is aggregated with a John Deere 6220 tractor on an 80 ha farm

The bachelor thesis is focused on the comparison of the Krone Comprima F 155 XC baler for cylidrical bales and the Welger WSA 450 baler for prismatic bales. These machines are intended for pressing hay and straw. Performance, fuel consumption and costs per 1 ton of material will be compared in the work.

This diploma thesis focuses on the comparison and energy consumption of roll balers with different design solutions in straw harvest. The two different types of balers were compared in terms of cutting, volume weight, performance and the costs of baling. In the first part the diploma work introduces the methods of straw harvest, the agrotechnical requirements for pickup balers and the classification of pickup balers. The main parts of roll balers with a fixed chamber and a variable chamber are also described here. The second part contains the work itself, with measured values arranged in tables accompanied with graphs. The conclusion of the thesis contains an evaluation and recommendations for the agricultural practice.

This bachelor's thesis is focused on basic sorting of balers for round bales and description of individual working parts. Attention is paid to structural differences be-tween fixed and variable pressing chamber, and their advantages and disadvantages. The thesis includes general knowledge of models from major producers, which are sold and used the most often, and news on marketplace, too.
