The bachelor thesis deals with the occurrence and development of rumen microorganisms in the foregut of sheep with a focus on rumen protozoa. A literature review provides an introduction to the function of ruminal digestion in ruminants, covering foregut morphology and function and rumen fermentation. The practical part focuses on the collection of rumen fluid samples in sheep by the per os method, which were then sensory, chemically and microbially examined and the results compared with reference parameters.

ABSTRACT This bachelor thesis deals with the theme Factors affecting digestibility of organic matter in forages by cattle. The first part is focused on description of basic nutrients contained in feeds and their function in organism. Next there is spoken about ruminal digestion and their parts of digestion system. There are also mentioned traditional forages used in total mixed rations. The second part describes methods using to measure digestibility and the most common factors influencing digestibility of organic matter of feeds.
