Influence of total water hardness to constant (by fixed defined) pH value on development of roes by selected types of aquarium fishes
FRANTL, Zdeněk
Based on published data in available literature sources and on own experiments, it was evaluated how total water hardness (CM) with respect to constant pH value influences development of aquarium fish roes of Corydoras trilineatus, Corydoras panda, Aphyosemion gardneri gold and Aphyosemion scheeli. It was found out based on the experiments that total water hardness does not effect very much development of roes of species Corydoras panda. The optimum value of total water hardness for roes development can be recommended in range from 2,5 to 17,5 °N with value of pH 7,0. The influence of total water hardness on development of roes was higher by species of Corydoras trilineatus than Corydoras panda. The results of my experiment do not fully correspond with what is stated in published literature. As optimum value of total water hardness can be recommended value range from 0,5 to 4,5 °N by pH 7,0. Suitable values of total water hardness for development of roes of Aphyosemion gardneri gold and Aphyosemion scheeli are in interval from 4 to 4,5 °N with value of pH 6,2. Definetly, the results of my experiment do not correspond with values, which are stated by quoted authors, because they often recommend higher value of total water hardness. From the results of this work follow, that number of nondeveloping roes is increasing.by higher total water hardness.
The total water hardness and pH during the egg development in selected aquarium fish species
FRANTL, Zdeněk
Objectives of thesis: 1.To evaluate the effect of pH and total hardness of water on the development of eggs in aquarium fish Corydoras paleatus, Corydoras paleatus albin, Tanichthys albonubes, Tanichthys albonubes gold, Aphyosemion gardneri, Aphyosemion gardneri gold. 2.Recommendation of optimal values of total hardness of water and pH for successful development of eggs for each monitored aquarium fish. Based on published data in available literature sources and on own experiments, it was evaluated how total water hardness (CM) and pH influences development of aquarium fish eggs of Aphyosemion gardneri, Aphyosemion gardneri gold, Tanichthys albonubes, Tanichthys albonubes gold, Corydoras paleatus, Corydoras paleatus albin.
