The Possibilities of Employment for Mentally Disabled Persons
BRABCOVÁ, Kateřina
Currently, there is a wide range of employment opportunities that can be used by people with mental disabilities. The main objective of the work is to find out what possibilities for people with mental disabilities are there on the labour market. The theoretical part contains definitions of mental disabilities, statistics, classification of people with mental disabilities, employment opportunities, employment of people with mental disabilities and legislation. An integral part of the theoretical part are the possibilities where people with mental disabilities can apply. The practical part focuses on the implementation of research. A semi-structured interview with a deliberate targeted selection of working people with mild mental disabilities was chosen for the research. The main benefit of the bachelor's thesis is to inform the public that people with mental disabilities are available on the labour market. The bachelor's thesis also serves as an overview of opportunities for people with mental disabilities in choosing a suitable job. From the survey of respondents, it was clear that people with mild mental disabilities are very well applicable in the labour market and due to the choice of employment, most of them did not face discrimination. The employment of a person with a mild mental disability satisfies and develops their personality, they often want to feel that they belong somewhere and that society accepts them. Through the employment, the respondents gain a certain position in society.
