Currently, there is a wide range of employment opportunities that can be used by people with mental disabilities. The theoretical part contains definitions of mental disabilities, statistics, classification of people with mental disabilities, employment opportunities, employment of people with mental disabilities and legislation. An integral part of the theoretical part are the possibilities where people with mental disabilities can apply. The practical part focuses on the implementation of research. The main benefit of the bachelor's thesis is to inform the public that people with mental disabilities are available on the labour market. The bachelor's thesis also serves as an overview of opportunities for people with mental disabilities in choosing a suitable job. From the survey of respondents, it was clear that people with mild mental disabilities are very well applicable in the labour market and due to the choice of employment, most of them did not face discrimination. The employment of a person with a mild mental disability satisfies and develops their personality, they often want to feel that they belong somewhere and that society accepts them. Through the employment, the respondents gain a certain position in society.
Transit programs implemented within a two-year practical school study
HAVELKOVÁ, Denisa
In my thesis I focused on the transition from school to work in people with mental disabilities. I describe the basic terminological definition of mental disability. Furthermore, the thesis describes the division and characteristics of individual levels of mental disability. This is followed by a description of the period of adolescence, which is closely related to this important shift in life, the vocational training of young people with mental disabilities, the transition from school to work itself and an important description of the transit program. The aim of the thesis is to focus on the course of work integration of people with mental disabilities. The target group therefore consists of those clients who are visiting the program now. The practical part of the thesis starts with stating the goals. In the following subchapters, the methodology chosen follows. According to an interview with employees and clients, I wrote the course of the transit program and focused on their benefit. I see the transit program as a specific program that has a valid place in open civil society.
The Labour Market for Disabled Persons and its Importance
FÜLLOVÁ, Adéla
This bachelor's thesis deals with issues related to the employment of disabled persons and with their motivation to seek employment. The thesis aims to identify and describe the individual obstacles and difficulties when integrating in the working process, as well as to analyse the importance of employment for persons with mental disabilities and their motivation to seek and keep jobs. The theoretical part of the thesis has been divided into five main chapters. Chapter I defines the concept of a person with disability and describes the individual types of disabilities. Chapter II explains the term mental disability and describes the diagnostics and classification of the individual levels of disability, including their characteristics. Chapter III addresses the importance of work activities for persons with mental disabilities and their possible motivation to work. Chapter IV focuses on the work preparation process, the support needed and the possibilities to succeed on the labour market. The final chapter describes the possible barriers persons with mental disabilities have to tackle on the labour market. The research part of the thesis deals with the actual experience of mentally disabled persons on the labour markets in Přerov and České Budějovice Districts. Following the qualitative research strategy, the data was collected using the survey method and the semi-structured interview technique. The thesis might become a resource providing a comprehensive perspective of issues related to the employment of mentally disabled persons. The resource can be of use for students, employers and the general public.
Transit programms implemeted under a two-year study of practical school
HAVELKOVÁ, Denisa
In my thesis I focused on the transition from school to work in people with mental disabilities. I describe the basic terminological definition of mental disability. Furthermore, the thesis describes the division and characteristics of individual levels of mental disability. This is followed by a description of the period of adolescence, which is closely related to this important shift in life, the vocational training of young people with mental disabilities, the transition from school to work itself and an important description of the transit program. The aim of the thesis is to focus on the course of work integration of people with mental disabilities, to what positions the program tries to place the clients and in what positions clients work after the end of the transit program. The target group therefore consists of those clients who are visiting the program now, but also the clients who have already gone through the program and are now employed. The practical part of the thesis starts with stating the goals. In the following subchapters, the methodology chosen follows. According to interviews with employees, I have written a transit program. I made a personal history from interviews with active clients, found out what jobs they were working on, and interviewed former clients to find out where they were employed. I see the transit program as a specific program that has a valid place in open civil society.
