The role of education in Roma families
ŠLAPÁKOVÁ, Lada
This bachelor thesis deals with the role of education in Roma families. In the first chapter, I deal with the history of The Roma. When they came to the territory of the Czech Republic, what problems they had to deal with and the majority society's view of The Roma ethnicity. In the second chapter, I deal with preschool and elementary education, what problems they encounter in the educational process, how successful they are in school, and what affects their success. The third chapter concerns the attitudes of parents and how they influence their children through these attitudes. I also deal with the school and teachers here, how it would be appropriate to treat Romani children and what qualities the educator should have. I also mention here the value of lifelong learning and how language skills affect the school success rate of a Romani pupil.
