Mold melted glass sculpture

Bachelor thesis "Mold melted glass sculpture" is divided into a theoretical part a practical part. The first part of the theoretical work deals with the origin, the development of fused sculpture in the context of the period after the Second World War. In the second part mentions the most important Czech artists of fused sculptures. The third part describes fused sculptures after the year 1989 and aslo contemporary creators of glass design. The last fourth part of the theoretical work is dedicated to Zdeněk Lhotský, who became the inspiration for this bachelor thesis. The practical part is focused on the making of molten glass object, which the author was inspired by monumental sarcophagus made by Czech glass artist Zdeněk Lhotský.
Pedagogic Action of Stanislav Libenský on the Background of his Creative Activity

This practical-theoretic diploma thesis deals with a glass artist and a schoolmaster Stanislav Libenský. He taught students in every grade of glass education however the subject matter of this thesis is his work in tertiary education at Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague according to the historical context. The practical part of the thesis comprises a melted and cut glass sculpture called Kontakty (Touches) which is realized according to findings in theoretical part of the thesis.
The Czech Cold casting - Libensky and Brychtova

ANNOTATION Lenka Stedrova Czech mold melted glass - Brychtova and Libensky The topic of the bachelor work are personalities of Jaroslava Brychtova and Stanislav Libensky mainly who worked out and improved the mold melted glass technology in Bohemia and origin of this technology itself. It focuses on life of Ms. Brychtova and Mr. Libensky, their common cooperation, cross-section of their whole production, exhibiton activity and museum expositions, where the authors present their works. Further on it records the circumstances of the mold melted glass evolution in the experimental centre of the melted glass by the national company "Zeleznobrodske sklo" in Zelezny Brod and consequently in studio Lhotsky Ltd. in Pelechov. The works are time-focalised to the period of 2. half of the 20th century and there is recorded a subsequent influence of this technology on the Czech art scene and context with the era. Part of the text are analyses of some chosen works of the art couple Brychtova and Libensky and their art description. The goal of the work is to introduce the melted glass and artists who are engaged in and show its rareness in Czech and foreign context of the glass art. Supervisor: prof. PhDr. Petr Fidler
