How to motivate primary school children to think and act in an environmental way

The contents of the Thesis feature a survey of contemporary international attitude to environmental development and its effect on the educational trends in the Czech republic. Also, the short-term eco-educational project intended for primary school children is included here in the Thesis. The aim of the project is to arouse environmental awareness of children and excite their interest in this matter, which is considered to be the first essential step towards the sustainable development.

Waste and Container Management Analysis at Selected Area

The aim of my diploma work is a study of economizing with packings and waste products in the selected area from the point of view of environment, economy and logistics. For my work I have chosen the towns with extended sphere of competence of the South Bohemian region and there I have analysed the problem. The production of waste in the monitored towns was similar when we checked the mixed waste per 1 000 inhabitants in 2008. It was about 252 tons. In comparison with it the amount of sorted waste was in the followed towns considerably different. People sorted out the most in Vimperk ? 80,30 t of waste and the least in Trhové Sviny ? 1,55 t of waste per 1 000 inhabitants. The South Bohemian region could fulfil one of the goals of The Plan of Waste Management. This goal is to lower 20 % of the weight share of waste stored on the waste dumps by 2010 comparing to 2000. The goal is being gradually fulfilled and it is likely to be kept.

The use of radiotherapy departments in the hospital response plan to the mass admission of casualties {--} a possible model

The work points out at the preparedness of health care institutions in terms of solution to the mass admission of contaminated persons and persons exposed to the effects of ionizing radiation. The traumatologic plan and the emergency preparedness plan for the particular hospital should work with small modifications as well for admissions of higher number of persons affected by ionizing radiation as for the mass traumatologic admission. The aim of this work was to detect possibilities of participation of radiotherapy departments to ensure the level of preparedness of hospitals for the mass admission of a defined sample of casualties. At the close of the work there was proposed a model of efficient use of specialists of radiotherapy departments of hospitals (e.g. the faculty hospitals) for preparedness of hospitals for the mass admission of casualties.

Waste and Container Management Analysis at Selected Area

The goal of my bachelor´s work was the analysis of economical use of waste products and packing in the chosen area from the standpoint of both environment, economy and logistics. For my work I have chosen the town of Vodňany where refuse collection is provided by the company RUMPODL 01 {--} Vodňany L.t.d. The charge for the system working of gathering, collection, transport, sorting out, use and removing of the waste products was determined by the town of Vodňany to 480 Czech crowns. This charge was calculated from the real costs. If people sorted out more, this charge would fall. It follows from my questionnaire that most inhabitants of this town sort out only sometimes and that´s why the amount of waste increases. The amount of sorted waste also increases but not in sufficiency. People sort out mostly the plastics.
