This diploma thesis focuses on the optimization of inventory control in a manufacturing company. Basic information about stocks and their possible kind of analysis are presented in the context of theoretical approaches. There was to introduce a production company and its products. Finally, based on the analysis of stocks, especially the production of components and their suppliers are designed ways of managing and storing supplies, which should contribute to the reduction of the stocks and the consequent reduction in costs.

The theoretical part discusses general concepts of logistics and stock management. There are described patterns of production and its connection to the warehouse and logistics issues and more. The practical part focuses on a specific environment of companies operating in the automotive industry and describes its parts and logistics processes that are somehow related to the stock management. The practical part is also more elaborated on Aftermarket issues.

Analysis of the production process of company

In the theoretical part of this work are described the manufacturing process, structure and production management, quality management in the producion and logistics and financial management. It was taken as a base for practically part of this work, where is writen about company functioning, the description of functioning of the production process and its leadership, including importance of duality and logistics in the manufacturing process. There were proposed the possibilities of improving in the manufacturing process and cost savings in storage and transport of the material. Finally was described the economic situation of the company.

The diploma work deals with stock holding and inventory management in selected company. The main sources of information were specialized liturature and information provided by the company. The objective of this thesis was analyse, evaluation and improvement suggestion of stock holding and inventory management. The theoretic part is focused on stock holding and theory of inventory management. In the practical part is presented the company, process of production and structure of inventory.It has been analysed process of stock holding and inventory management. The company use the program MGF/PRO and system kanban. The diploma work is closed by evaluation and improvement suggestion in inventory management.
