Zvonková, Štěpánka ; Velková, Alice (advisor) ; Slováková, Věra (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with unmarried mothers in Písek at the end of the 19th century that can be characterized as a period of significant social and demographic changes. The theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge about the economic and population development of the Czech lands, as well as the historical-demographic and social background of the district captainship Písek (Bezirkshauptmannschaft) and the royal town of Písek at the end of the 19th century. The analytical part focuses on meeting the main goal of this thesis, which was the analysis of non- marital fertility in Písek and the structure of households of unmarried mothers at the end of the 19th century. First, the proportion of live births outside marriage in Písek was determined by excerpting from Roman Catholic registries from the period 1881-1900 and then analyzed according to differential factors such as month or place of birth. Subsequently, thanks to numerous data from the registries it was possible to define the geographical and social environment of the parents of the observed unmarried mothers. Finally, the thesis deals with the legitimation of illegitimate children....
The future of a Czech family
SOCHOROVÁ, Zuzana
My work deals with contemporary Czech family and its development. Young people enter to a lesser extent to marry, less and less children are born, the population is aging, alarming is the high number of divorces. Does the impact the amount of education on divorce? Evident is also a large increase in children born to single mothers. Even though it is still the most children born of marriage, unmarried parents are increasing. Many couples can not conceive a child naturally and uses the opportunity to assisted reproduction. Increasing the proportion of women who for some reason a child can not or do not want. i also deal with the division of roles in the family and in the work area. What has changed in contemporary family compared to traditional family? The aim is to map the current situation of Czech families and their future from the perspective of domestic and foreign authors. i can see the importance of the ethical and social aspects that may to impact the influence of development of families in the future. Conclusion contains my assessment on this issue.
Symbols of exclusion from society in folk tradition
JUŘICOVÁ, Iveta
The dissertation titled Symbols of exclusion from society in folk tradition concentrates on the interaction of symbols and folk tradition. It explores the way the phenomenon of love and death is traditionally viewed in the Czech country, namely during the Middle Ages and modern times. The main focus of this dissertation is on the social roles of women, although it also shows proof of social exclusion of a man as an executioner. To demonstrate the reasons behind excluding individuals on the outskirts of society, the author also gives short characteristics of the views on the issue of chastity, traditional expectations of fulfilling the female social roles - as virgins, wives and mothers. The author then gives examples of behavior which, in folk tradition, were looked upon as impure/virtueless.
The changes of a current Czech family from the mothers´ point of view
MAJEROVÁ, Lenka
My diploma thesis "The changes of a current Czech family from the mothers´ point of view" deals with turning points in today´s families and mother´s opinions on a current changing family. The theoretical part deals with the history and current state of Czech families. In this part I drew from the publications reflecting the evolution of Czech family, sociological conceptions delimiting the basic changes of family and sociological studies dealing with current trends in a family life. The empirical part of the diploma thesis is based on a qualitative sociological research which tries to show the current mothers´ attitude to the changes of current Czech family. The main topics of the interviews are cohabitation, the phenomenon singles and childless couples, single mothers, and fathers taking care of their children.
