Ammonia nitrogen stripping from liquid suspensions
Strádal, Jakub ; Krištof, Ondřej (referee) ; Kalivoda, Josef (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focuses on the optimization of the designed semi-operational technological stripping device, which was used to separate ammonia nitrogen from a solution simulating fugate. The operation of biogas plants produces digestate and its liquid part (fugate) contains a high concentration of ammoniacal nitrogen, which complicates the use of fugate as fertilizer. Optimal experimental conditions for ammonia separation were investigated on a semi-operating device with considering to economic and time burden. The determination of ammonia nitrogen was measured by UV-VIS spectrometry using the indophenol method. The results found will be used to select the optimum input conditions to be practiced on a real fugate.
Possibilities of utilization of nitrogen compounds from liquid suspensions generated in waste management
Vajdíková, Tereza ; Mergl, Václav (referee) ; Kalivoda, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with the removal of ammoniacal nitrogen from biogas plant waste to produce a new usable product. In the theoretical part of the thesis, attention is paid to waste management from the perspective of biogas plants, the problem of nitrogen, and its removal. The thesis contains, among other things, theoretical calculations that include distribution and precipitation curves. The practical part deals with the correctness of these curves, as well as the precipitation of ammonium ions to form ammonium magnesium phosphate and stripping. The practical part includes quantitative and qualitative analyses of the individual components involved in precipitation. Nitrogen removal was performed on the model and real samples.
Treatment of Liquid Phase of Digestate Enabling More Effective Utilization of Nutrients
Kotrč, Vlastislav ; Švehla, Pavel (advisor) ; Kulhánek, Martin (referee)
The present thesis focuses on theoretical evaluation of possible ways of processing liquid fraction of fermentation residue, allowing more efficient use of nutrients. The introductory part is devoted to biogas, he described its origin, characteristics and possible uses. It is also characterized by a process of anaerobic fermentation and the factors influencing its course. The resulting products are energy-rich biogas and also mentioned fermentation residue. The fourth chapter describes the principle of operation of a biogas plant and a closer approach to the current situation in the Czech Republic and Europe. The main part deals with the rest of the so-called fermentation. Digestate and in particular its separate liquid component Liquid digestate containing a large amount of nutrients that can be effectively used with appropriate procedures. The final chapter is devoted to a description and critical evaluation of the methods of pre-treatment Liquid digestate.
