Prospects for financial support for small and medium enterprises in the Czech Republic

The Bachelor thesis describes chosen possibilities of available financial support for small and medium enterprises in the Czech Republic. It gives an overview of the importance of small and medium enterprises and analyses specific trends in different areas of its economic importance. The thesis explains the system of financial support in general as well as the specific cases of the European Union and the Czech Republic. It describes accessible support programmes for Czech small and medium enterprises. The thesis also evaluates the efficiency of financial support based on chosen data and identifies possible improvements for the next period.
The comparison of small and medium-sized enterprises support in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. The objective of the thesis is to compile a summary of institutions concerned with business support in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic and compare certain types of business support in both countries. The first chapter clarifies the basic terms, shows definitions of micro, small and medium-sized companies according to different institutions and explains how small and medium-sized companies contribute to the economy of Czech Republic. The second chapter deals with institutions that are concerned with business support and support programmes financed from a state budget in Czech Republic and in Slovak Republic. Particular institutions provide enterprises with informational, material and financial support and are focused differently according to the purpose of their foundation, specific business segment they deal with or activities they perform or services that they provide. The third chapter is focused on business support from the European Union. The most important business support programme in Czech Republic is Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation and in Slovak Republic Operational Programme Competitiveness and Economic Growth so the greatest attention is oriented on these two programmes. The fourth chapter deals with certain types of business support and compares their focus and results in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. The comparison is made between particular types of support (e. g. indirect support, microloans), between specific groups of entrepreneurs (e. g. businesswomen, starting entrepreneurs) and particular business activities (e. g. export, business presentation). The conclusion reviews the results of the thesis and gives an advice which country has more favourable conditions for starting a business.
The evaluation of the effectiveness of funds spent on human resources

The graduation thesis attends to the problems concerning the financing of the development of human resources from the Structural funds of EU. In the first part it concentrated on the European Union Structural policy and Operational programme Human resource development. In the next part it described the monitoring system for Measures 3.2 Support for tertiary education, research and development (based on my own experience at Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports). The main object of the paper was to analyse effectiveness of the finances allocated by the programme through the Questionnaire research which was oriented on the applicants, both successful and unsuccessful ones. The result of this analysis is set of thesis about benefits, problems of clerical staff and experiences from the first drawing from the Structural funds of EU.
Promotion of Enterprising in Small and Medium-Size Businesses in the Czech Republic

Exploitation of the European Social Fund in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the exploitation of the European Social Fund in the Czech Republic through the Community Initiative EQUAL, which was realized in the programme period 2000-2006, and is characterized by a such aid as the development support and promotion of new innovative instruments competing with inequalities in the labour market. The thesis is divided into three parts, of which the first and the second part are the theoretical and the third is the practical. The first part of the thesis focuses on the description of the European social fund. The Community Initiatives in the programme period 1994-1999 and 2000-2006 and the Community Initiative EQUAL. The second part describes the basic principles of Community Initiative EQUAL that are obligatory for all that projects in this Initiative. There is also a chapter in this part that considers the evaluation of Initiative's basic principles. At first the practical part deals with questionnaire inquire where respondents are represented by organizations themselves that made the project under the Community Initiative EQUAL. Questionnaire is mostly focused on the fulfilment of the main principles in projects of Community Initiative and the continuity of organisations on this Initiative in the programme period 2007-2013. In the practical part there is also introduction of five projects that meet principles the Community Initiative EQUAL in the high quality way. These projects also use above mentioned principles in the programme period 2007-2013.
The administrative burden of public spending programs

The thesis is focused on finding administrative costs of the selected public spending program - the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness. The work presents the theory of public expenditure, public spending projects and administrative costs to the extent required. There is also described the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness itself. The core is in the analysis of administrative costs for the three types of projects, the administrative burden is watched in the selected projects at various levels of implementation structure. The values observed are compared, evaluated and commented. The problematic areas are formulated pursuant to the observed data. To determine the necessary data has been used a questionnaire survey.
The cross-border cooperation between Czech republic and Poland in the region of Hradec Králové

The goal of my bachelor thesis is to analyze cross-border cooperation between the Czech Republic and Poland. The core of the thesis is the evaluation of SWOT analysis of the eurore-gion Glacensis, which concurs to the whole characteristics of particular euroregions in the area of the Czech Republic, including its history, characteristics of goals, and instruments of cross-border cooperation in general and also the particular institutions which participate in the financing of cross-border cooperation. The analysis of the cross-border cooperation of the Czech Republic and Poland is made by form of SWOT -- analysis of the region Glacensis, in which it will identify the positives, negatives, opportunities, and threats for this euroregion and in recent times, the specific priorities for the future possible development of the range.
The Impact Of Structural Funds On Small and Medium Enterprises In The Olomouc Region

This Bachelor's thesis investigates the impact of structural funds on small and medium enterprises in The Olomouc region. The support is drawn mainly on the Operational programme Enterprise and innovation as a grant. According to the questionnaire investigation performed the realized development projects helped to increase competitiveness and to penetrate new markets. They also increased the capacities of companies. But these are not fully used, now. The realized projects in marketing helped to the increase in export. The contribution to new jobs is different among projects and is not higher with increasing costs. However, the structural funds are not the impulse for preparation and/or realization of projects. Most of them would be realized even without the support. Their biggest contribution to small and medium enterprises is then the help to keep their financial stability.
Comparison of the systems of transnational business support programmes in the Czech Republic and in the Irish Republic

The diploma thesis focuses on business support provided by the EU structural funds. The aim is to describe, analyse and compare the systems of transnational business support programmes implemented in the Czech Republic and in Ireland. In addition, the diploma thesis aims to find out whether the application of the Irish system would be suitable for the Czech environment and whether it would be beneficial to change the current state.
Analysis of policy in support of generation electricity from renewable resources in Czech republic.

The bachelor thesis aims on analysis of support in generation of electricity from renewable resources in the Czech Republic and its historical development. In the view of gradual growth of consumption and prices of energy is this thesis very actual, especially in the time of global financial crisis. Theoretical part of the work defines main historical goals in economic policy, which led to the policy of support in generation of electricity from renewable resources. Then the description of renewable and non-renewable resources fallows. Theoretical part ends with consideration of possibility, that non-renewable resources could be worked-out. In analytical part of the work is researched policy of support in generation of electricity from renewable resources. The main sort of subventions in the Czech Republic and legislature of European Union is defined. Impacts of these policies are shown on share of electricity production from renewable resources and gross domestic consumption. This research is compared with other members of European Union. The last part analyzes usability of each renewable resource in conditions of the Czech Republic. The main goal of this bachelor work is analysis of support in generation of electricity from renewable resources in the Czech Republic and eventual recommendations on improvement in these policies.
