Vlasák, Patrik ; Županič, Jan (advisor) ; Valkoun, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the polish elears in services of the Habsburgs in 1618- 1620. The main focus is put on the cause of formation of this cavalry unit, and circumstances under which they began to serve in the services of the Austrian empire. I equally focus on their identity and their place of origin. I also try to analyze internal relations within the Polishh-Lithuanian Commonwealth and its foreign policy, which, I believe determined the very existence of the polish elears, that I percieve as one of the symptoms of crisis of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Třeboň, Passau army and Bohemian revolt
TITL, David
The bachelor thesis primarily aims at describing the warrior role of the town Třeboň in two major conflicts, which affected southern Bohemia in the first half of the 17th Century - the Passau army incursion in 1611 and the Bohemian Revolt from 1618 to 1620, including next two years of persisting resistance to victorious imperial party. At this territory, there the significant military and diplomatic operations happened. They noticeably influenced the development of both conflicts. Even that in both cases Třeboň represented a strategically important fortress, its role differed. These differences were chosen by the author to be the main topic of his thesis. Therefore, a comparative approach was chosen by using the direct method and the method of "sonda" (focused on something in detail). This way the author is looking at both wartime situations and evaluating its impact on microhistory of the region.

Michna, a butcher's son from Budyně nad Ohří, became thanks to patronage of the High Chancellor of the Czech Kingdom Zdeněk Vojtěch Popel z Lobkowicz in the early part of the 17th century the Czech Kingdom Court Office Secretary and reinforced a group of catholic militants who gradually started to exploit the Czech Kingdom Court Office for the benefit of their own influence at the expense of Protestant majority.
