Kasanová, Barbora ; Chytilová, Helena (advisor) ; Prokop, Jaromír (referee)
Unsustainable business practices coupled with an illusion of the masses plagues the higher education model in the United States today. It used to hold that college was the key to a successful job for fresh graduates. . . . We are in the midst of a speculative bubble composed of inflated expectations about the university system. This paper aims to analyze that there is indeed a speculative bubble of the US Higher Education system. The increased demand for college, skyrocketing tuition and room & board fees, as well as easier access to loans for funding have contributed to the formation of this bubble.

Zajíčková, Tereza ; Titze, Miroslav (advisor) ; Loužek, Marek (referee)
This thesis deals with monetary policy from the point of view of its impact on the creation of speculative bubbles and presents the mechanism with which the central banks can, on a general scale, stimulate a significant increase in prices of assets which has no fundamental justification. The thesis analyses two selected speculative bubbles which preceded one of the deepest economic crises and confirms the significant influence of the expansionary monetary policy of The Fed on their creation. Attention is also paid to the measures implemented by The Fed in reaction to bursting of the pricing bubbles, which are very different in both cases of economic crisis.
Politika kvantitativního uvolňování jako možná příčina budoucí finanční krize
Náhlík, Tomáš
This thesis deals with the issue of quantitative easing and the risks associated with this policy. Specifically, it is analysing the possibility of a price bubble in the stock market and real estate market as a result of quantitative easing. To identify the presence of a speculative bubble in the stock market are used indicators CAPE and Tobin's Q. It is also analysed the development of the loans granted to purchase shares. For the evaluation of real estate prices is used the ratio between the index of real estate prices and rents index. It also analyses the evolution of the number of newly issued homes and their sales. The values of those indicators show that the stock market is currently highly overvalued. On the contrary, the real estate market situation does not depart from the norm. The main result of this thesis is identification of overvaluation of the US stock market and putting into context with quantitative easing.

The main objective of bachelor thesis is to compare the causes of the Great Depression and the financial crisis of 2008 - 2009. First I examine the causes of financial crisis 2008-2009. I referr to the behavior and reactions of financial and non-financial entities and their role in the processes that led to financial crisis. In real estate debt crisis I see initial stage of it, and therefore I emphasize the mechanism of its formation. Second I focus on the causes of the outbreak of the Great Depression. I describe the emergence of the Great Depression with regard to the different monetary structure and its influence on the conduct of businesses. Third I compare causes of both economic crises and define their parallels. The main task is to prove that the Fed's monetary expansion led in both cases to inflate the specific bubble, which resulted directly or indirectly in problems on financial markets.
