TITLE: Development of language skills of CODA AUTHOR: Štěpánka Dejmková DEPARTMENT: Department of Special Education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Miroslava Kotvová ABSTRACT: Bachelor thesis with the title the Development of the language skills of CODA is focused on the description of the development and acquisition of language hearing children of deaf parents, both spoken language and sign. The aim is to describe the development of language competence CODA studied to the basis of the available literature and interviews with CODA individuals. The theoretical part presents the field of the education of the deaf, culture and the Deaf community, sign language, but also a description of the acquisition of sign and spoken language. The practical part consists of the case studies of CODA which were based on the interviews with the individuals or even with them and their parents. The work highlights the problem of bilingual individuals growing up in a home environment with the sign language with the influence of the spoken language of the major society, but also the difficulty and importance of the election code of communication for deaf parents.
