Report on the hydroledological survey in the Černý Důl, Krkonoše Mts.
Šípek, Václav ; Vlček, Lukáš ; Zelíková, Nikol
The report documents results of hydropedological survey in the Černý Důl, Krkonoše Mts. Two experimental sites were selected based on the requirements of National Park Krkonoše with the aim to determine the effect of bark beetle outbreak on the soil water regime. The report contains description of soil hydraulic properties at two plots (healthy and impacted forest) for several soil horizons which will serve as a basis for hydropedological model.\n
Soil water retention in the landscape
Hřebejková, Barbora ; Šípek, Václav (advisor) ; Frouz, Jan (referee)
Water retention in the landscape is one the current topics in environmental protection. It is affected by a number of factors and is changing both in time and space. The goal of this thesis is to examine the long-term development of water retention in the landscape and to determine the influence of different types of vegetation on the soil moisture underneath. In the first part of my thesis I review different soil types with respect to their physical characteristics and interaction with water, and ways of measuring soil moisture. The aim of the thesis is the sum up the basic knowledge about soil and basics behaviour, mainly in the relation with soil moisture. There are introduced methods of soil moisture measurement with regard to their limits. In the second part I focus on analysis of selected studies covering the topic of water retention in the landscape. Due to the technical difficulty is only a few studies devoted to a long term measurement of soil water by direct methods and therefore are results mostly limited to evaluate soil water retention by hydropedological models. In the final part I discuss and evaluate the results of the aforementioned studies. Key words: water retention, soil moisture, evapotranspiration, soil hydrology, climate change
Soil hydrology in a small watershed
Šír, Miloslav ; Lichner, Ľ. ; Tesař, Miroslav
Proceedings consist of 35 articles that were prepared as the contribution for the International Conference Soil Hydrology in a Small Watershedö taken place on October 15th, 2003 in Prague. Contributions included in this Proceedings are dedicated soil hydrology of a small watershed in a plenty of connections with concurrent scientific and engineering branches. The contributions are divided into eight sections.
Soil water regime of the artic-alpine tundra of the Giant Mts. region, assessment and modelling
Tesař, Miroslav
This subproject deals with the soil moisture dynamics in the mountainous region of the Krkonoše (Giant) Mts. as a starting point for qualitative studies taking into account the newly developed discontinuous and essentially nonhomogenous approach to the soil water regime character. As precise as possible identification of the accumulation and percolation phases of the soil water regime should be the main result of the soil water regime observation. The attention is also paid: (i) to the study and description of the runoff from a watershed formation taking into account the soil moisture dynamics and storage as an important factor affecting surface runoff formation; (ii) to the determination of the influence of the land-use changes on the soil water regime.
