The effects of chinese investments on the socio-economic development in Nigeria

This bachelor thesis seeks to analyze the effects of the Chinese investments on the socio- economic development of Nigeria. The research problem of this thesis is to understand and to investigate how the three main variables education, employment, and the perception of China in Nigeria affect the socio-economic development in Nigeria. In particular, it examines the Chinese investments, initiatives and mutual viewpoints on this problematic. Firstly, as part of the literature review, the thesis gives a historical background of the Afro- Chinese and Sino-Nigerian relationship and the beginning of the economic cooperation. Secondly, Foreign Direct Investment is covered and discussed, as well as the Belt and Road Initiative. Furthermore, it seeks to examine the relationships between the two countries and the main areas of attractiveness and investment of Nigeria. In the practical part, the thesis discusses the economic and sociological aspect using the three mentioned variables. The practical part analyzes these variables using descriptive analysis and other statistical tools.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the consequences of the international migration on sending and receiving countries. The thesis will analyse two chosen countries- Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as sending and receiving countries respectively. The first part of the thesis will be focused mainly on the literature review, on the theoretical concepts of migration and also it will focuse on showing the positive and negative effects of the migration on both, the sending and receiving countries. The second part of the thesis will be focused on the data analysis and interpretation. The final part is discussing the obtained results and come up with possible recommendations and conclusion.
The role of women in the socio-economic development of Kenya

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to highlight the importance of the involvement of Kenyan women in social and economic development. It analyses how women influence development in many fields, especially in economy and education. It also includes the problems that women face and have to overcome in the process of integration into the socioeconomic development. The work is divided into three parts. The first part, the theoretical part, deals with general information about the development, different types of development, and gender based differences. The second part analyses the contribution of women in socioeconomic development of Kenya. Using data from the World Bank and the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics. In the last part, the analysis results are summarized and discussed. In the end of the thesis are recommendations and conclusion.
Assessment of socio-economic development of provinces in Indonesia in the context of palm oil production and deforestation

The thesis deals with the creation of composite indicators in order to compare the social and economic development of Indonesian provinces selected on the basis of the extent of palm oil production. The theoretical part provides the basic overview of the concept of regional development and description of the process of composite indicators creation. The analytical part is focused to creation of composite indicators and also contains correlation and cluster analysis. In the final part are proposed recommendations on how to improve the situation regarding the palm oil production in Indonesia.
