Working-class fraction of middle classes under socialism
Zich, František
The contribution focuses on the rise of the socialist middle classes from politically engaged workers after 1948 in the Czech part of the Nisa Euroregion. Rising career tracks have been documented: direct progress to the senior post, preparation of labour intelligence, support by accepting children from working-class families to universities. According to intergenerational biographical comparison, life's careers showed a shift from the working-class way of life. This socialistic middle class gained social and cultural capital and successfully adapted to the new conditions after year 1989.
