Etical aspects of judicial supervision as a reason for child's removal from his family
KOPECKÁ, Markéta
The thesis deals with the issue of supervision over the upbringing of minors within the framework of social-legal protection of children. It is divided into three parts. The first part is legal, it deals with the description of the issue and explanation of the current system and the space that is defined for individual evaluation of situations and decision-making of social workers. The second part looks at selected ethical theories, each with a different perception of the good to be sought. They also offer different perspectives on the issue. The third part of the thesis asks specific questions that arose in the first part of the thesis and seeks answers through the lens of each of the theories described in the second part. On the basis of the clash between these two levels and the clash between rationality and emotions, different lines of opinion and insights emerge, which can open a discussion on topics that are not common in the Czech legal environment. The current system does not adapt in the field of supervision and the starting points that ethics offers bring new possibilities for solutions.
People´s motivation applying for temporary foster care in South Bohemian Region.
JÍRŮ, Jana
The bachelor thesis is focused on Motivation of individuals applying for foster care for a temporary period in the South Bohemian Region. Foster care is a form of alternative family care, but it differs from others by the fact that the child's own parents still have the responsibility for him/her and the child is not legally free. This is also the case of foster care for a temporary period, which lasts maximally one year, before the family situation is resolved or a substitute long-term family for the child is found. Everyone can not provide this care, so applicants have to go through a preparatory course and are examined by social workers, doctors and psychologists. One of their main goals is to find the motivation that leads the applicant. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters, where I first explain the concept of foster care and other forms of educational care, its history, legislation, and the emergence of foster care for a temporary period. The second chapter contains the criteria and the required description of the applicant, the work of a social worker who supervises everything and accompanies the applicant in the whole process of preparation and during the profession. The chapter also describes the entire course and duties required from the applicant. Finally, the concept of motivation and the type of motivation leading to foster care for a temporary period is explained because it is closely related to the selection of a good foster parent and is one of the most important criteria that are examined while choosing the applicant. The last chapter includes, among other things, financial evaluation of foster parents, as this motivation is also a priority for some people. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out the motivation of individual applying for foster care for a temporary period in the South Bohemian Region and its types. Three research questions have been selected: 1. What motivates applicants for foster care for a temporary period? 2. What is the description of the most frequent applicant for foster care for a transitional period? Do fosters fullfil all the criteria for foster care for a temporary period? 3. What is the role of a social worker in foster care for a transitional period? In the empirical part, there the qualitative survey is used by the semi-structured interview technique. The research team consists of social workers working with foster parents for a transitional period and the foster parents themselves who agree on the description of the most frequent applicant for foster care for a temporary period. Concerning motivation, foster parents are convinced that a financially motivated person can not become a foster person. Social workers have a similar opinion, but they meet even with such applicants, however they believe that financial motivation is not enough. Individuals performing these professions are primarily motivated by self-realization, altruism and the effort to use their experience and skills with the upbringing of children. The role of a social worker is irreplaceable in the process, they cooperate, control and accompany the applicant throughout the process. According to the results, it was proposed to inform the general public about the functioning of foster care for a temporary period, to unify the criteria for foster care and to encourage a reassessment of the funds for the foster parents.

Rolníková, Michaela ; Arnoldová, Anna (advisor) ; Veverková, Kamila (referee)
This thesis treats the service "Field Social Work in vulnerable families" provided by Diakonie of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren - The Center of Christian Aid in Prague. This service is regarded as one of the most effective types of interventions to vulnerable families. The support of such families is based both on the concept of social functioning and related life situations, as well as on the approaches and concepts (paradigms of social work) of the specific field social workers. The process of evaluating the life situation of a family is rather a difficult one which until today has not been standardized throughout the Czech Republic. On the 1st January 2013 a new Decree No. 473/2012 Coll. came into force, introducing a form designed for evaluating the life situations of a child. Since then there has been an ongoing reform in the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children. The service Field social work in vulnerable families would like to follow this reform. That is why it is necessary to map the present state of evaluating life situations of families with children in our Service and use the results in order to create an effective and efficient method for future work. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the background of family social work matters, which is to say...

Škodová, Klára ; Pazlarová, Hana (advisor) ; Turnovská, Elena (referee)
Diploma thesis "Analysis of Dům tří přání clients and their family background" presents the current system of care for children at risk in the historical development of children`s rights protection, social-legal protection of children; actual concept of particular departments, state administration, and non-government sector. The social-legal protection of children in the Czech Republic is segmental and is not enough to guarantee children`s rights to live in their biological families in case of support shortage. The forthcoming transformation and unification of the system of care for children is a great appeal for improving the cooperative work of all concerned in this field. One of the important element of the system, acting as a part of prevention of putting children into the institutions with constitutional education, is the civil association "Dům tří přání" which is authorized in providing the social-legal protection of children, and devices for children requiring immediate help. With the help of analysis of family background of children who are the clients of "Dům tří přání", and processing of selected statistical data, the given diploma thesis specifies some functional methods of working with children at risk and their families, directed to the safe family background and child`s development in the family.
