The Development of a Social Welfare Work in the Czech Republic since 1990 and its Legal Regulation Focusing on the Competences of Self-Goverment Authority.

The thesis deals with the development of social welfare work in the Czech Republic since 1990 with detailed focus on the competences of self government bodies including the relating legal regulations. The thesis is elaborated only on a theoretical level with its first part concentrating on definitions of the legal terminology used. Furthermore, the thesis is divided to periods with regard to years in which the legislation affecting the performance of social work was adopted. The scope of competences of individual levels of the local government bodies in social work is described in detail since the beginning of 2012, including the position of social workers within the local government bodies as well as in relation to non-profit organizations. Finally, based on the described and ascertained facts, both the strong and weak points of social work in local government bodies are summarized and their future potential tasks are assessed.

Bachelor thesis deals with further education of social workers. Theoretic part is focused on social workers profession standards and conditions of further education. The aim of practical part is to find the interest of social workers in compulsory further education.
