The End of Writer's Career: Urban Folklore Which Breaks the Law
Mejstříková, Dorotea ; Večerka, Kazimír (advisor) ; Grygar, Jakub (referee)
Graffiti is a game in which heroic courage and great tension are applied. It is an unusual and risky activity beyond the law, associated with dangerous and illegal intrusion into the secured areas of the underground metro system or climbing the roofs of buildings and high walls. All this means for the writer to write his name on the wall and reap the recognition of his colleagues from the subculture for it. The work looks at graffiti from the perspective of their representatives. Its aim is to answer the question whether the writer's motives to remain in the graffiti subculture change over time, how the writers perceive the sanctions of their surroundings, and whether the sanctions of the institutions affect the end of the writer's career. Data collection will take place through semi-structured interviews with respondents from the graffiti environment, participatory observation and qualitative content analysis of printed materials and websites, used for the exchange of information, especially between active members of the subculture. Keywords Graffiti, subculture, art, vandalism, subcultural career, criminal liability, social sanctions Title The End of Writer's Career: Urban Folklore Which Breaks the Law.
Prevention of socially pathological phenomena at the local level
TVAROHOVÁ, Michaela
At this time are socio-pathological phenomena and their incidence among juveniles and adolescents the burning issue, due to an increase crime undertaken by this age group. In my essay focused on the issue of undersirable and socially dangerous phenomena. I chose a location and set the goal of my research. The goal was to describe the socio-pathological phenomena occurring in the locality and analysis of prevention of these phenomena (creation of preventive measures, their implementation, availability, cooperation of the institutions involved in preventive measures, etc). In case of any shortcomings in the system prevention suggest possible measures to improve cooperation between various departments involved in this issue. Theoretical part defines the basic notions - social norms, social deviance, social sanctions, social control, social pathology, and prevention of these phenomena. It describes in detail the incidence of social pathology, causes and possibilities of prevention of the problem. The research was conducted after obtaining information on the issue, based on a qualitative approach, using half-controlled interview. It was headed to press-spokespeople Police of Czech Republic, the curator for children and youth and social workers to the site. The survey results suggest that primary prevention is the cooperation components involved in the prevention of socially pathological phenomena in a very good level. Are there problems in the secondary and tertiary prevention (lack of funds, incomplete facilities, communication problems between the different components involved in the prevention, etc.) The results of this work presents the current situation in the field of pathology and may be the basis for further studies and researches in this field.
