REKOVÁ, Lenka
In this bachelor thesis agriculture in general is presented first. Its history, role and functions are described. In the following description, the concept of social farming, its historical development, its role, the variety of its forms and the diversity of social farms are presented. A brief look at the concept of social farming in some European countries is outlined as well. It also discusses social services and some of the mechanisms and institutions through which these support activities are provided. Towards the end of the theoretical part, some perceived benefits as well as barriers associated with the concept of social farming are mentioned. The main aim of this thesis is to establish the perception of social farming from the perspective of those working on social farms, in the positions of managers, social workers or those with social care needs.
Social farming - specifics in social work, economy, running of the farm
ROSENKRANCOVÁ, Alžběta
The aim of my work is to map and evaluate whether there is provided social work at social farms, in which form and at which level it is. In the introduction I present the concept of social agriculture and analyse the outcomes of a questionnaire survey "Typical attributes of a social farm". In the main part I summarise the specifics of the social work at different types of those farms. I asses the target groups, targets and methods of social work with respect to the possibility of integration of handicapped individuals in the rural space at social farms. I deal with the topic of motivation of the disabled employees/clients and the prevention of inappropriate behaviour patterns. Moreover I shed light on the connection between the social focus of the farms with other non-productive functions of agriculture with regard to the permanently sustainable farming and the formation of resilient country communities.
