The Development of a Gifted Pupil with an Interest in Natural Sciences

The bachelor's thesis comprehensively outlines the issue of giftedness. The reason is the need to understand the context and sufficient theoretical preparation for subsequent research in the field of the development of gifted individuals for the natural history branch. The method of incomplete systematic literature search was used to select scientific publications that provided expert insight into the topic of giftedness and talent, from the definition of terms through the illumination of influences on the development of the gifted individual to the synthesis of knowledge concerning persons gifted with the ability to work in the fields of science (science giftedness). For the follow-up research part, with the aim of mapping aspects of the development of a gifted individual interested in studying biology, geology or ecology, the retrospective in-depth interview method combining semi- concluded questions and open questions was chosen. Development od individual musicality in church choirs in Telč, in Nová Říše and in Stará Říše

The work presents the advantages of a person who attends a church music ensemble, in the possibilities of his musical and personal development. These human development possibilities are detailed here for almost all stages of his life: from early school age to old age. The work draws information from total of three sources: theoretical information from professional literature and practical information from a questionnaire survey in the three investigated ensembles and from interviews with their choirmasters. In the practical part, the work focuses on three specific church music ensembles from the region of the author's interest: the Telč Santini Choir, the Staroříšský sbor and the Novoříšská schola. Part of the work is also devoted to the analysis of these bodies based on the data obtained. At the end of the work, the researched advantages in the possibilities of development in the temple music ensemble are placed in a general context and summarized.
Work with atypical children group with an aim on the development of social ability

This Diploma thesis focuses on the development of social skills in an atypical child group, particularly in the children`s homes groups. The goal of this research is to find out, whether a social skills programme can be implemented in the specific group. Further it is aiming to identify deficits in social skills of these children and to create activities, that would help with those areas to develop. The theoretical part deals with social skills and psychosocial development of children in primary school age. This part also focuses on the development specifics of children growing up in children`s homes and the principles and policies of work with the child group and the options of the children development. The empiric part contains the description of the methodology and analysis of the obtained data. In its first half, the empiric part focuses on the analysis of the extracts from the survey of work with the children. In its second half, it analyses the topics, that were frequently appearing in the survey. The thesis is enriched by detailed case studies of the children and extracts from the research diary. Social skills of children with intellectual disabilities in preschool age

The aim of the Bachelor thesis is to create methodical material for developing the ability to differentiate emotions of children with intellectual disabilities in preschool age. The theoretical part is about the definition of the concept of social skill, emotions, mental disability (resp. mental retardation) and play. The next chapters are devoted to the characteristics of a preschool child and a preschool child with intellectual disabilities in the part of socialization, adaptation, communication and emotionality. The practical part presents a methodical manual for the differentiation of emotions, which includes the expression of pedagogical staff of preschool education of children with special educational needs.
Social skills of adolescents with visual impairment and their influence on the proces of socialization

The aim of this thesis was to introduce the topic of social skills and their importance for the proces of socialization based on theoretical resources. This comparative study was conducted with a focus on comparing the level of social competences, especially in the branch of communication skills, and of people with congenital and acquired visual impairment and the evaluation mentioned in the context of the socialization process. A qualitative strategy, developed in the design of narrative biography, was used to fulfill the above stated goal. The data for the research were collected by the technique of repeated in-depth interview and analysis from the websites of organizations providing social rehabilitation for people with visual impairments. The research sample was selected by deliberate selection in accordance with the stated objective. The bachelor thesis deals with the specifics of congenital and acquired visual impairment and compensatory procedures of visual impairment. There are described the specifics of communication of people with visual impairment. Blind people with congenital visual impairment may have a lower level of social understanding. They do not have the necessary experience and lack of understanding affects and using of certain phrases and words. Unlike of those people with acquired visual impairment who have some pre-disability habits and experiences, this individuals are conected with congenital visual impairment, exhibit mimic, muscle stiffness, less pronounced pantomime, inability to make eye contact, and involuntary eye and body movements, which may lead to a poor understanding of communication by the blind. Although a network of facilities providing social rehabilitation has been built in the Czech Republic, only one organization, the Lookout Tower, offers non-verbal communication courses for people with visual impairments. This work can serve as a pre-research for further research in the field.

Social skills of convicted men

This thesis concerns a question, if social skills of convicted men are the same as social skills of men who have been never convicted. In terms of theoretical part there is an issue of prisons closely analysed including concrete problems of Czech prison system. Except overflowing, there is a problem of high recidivism and to that related imperfect postpenitenciar care, prisonization, lack of privacy and intimity of prisoners etc. Furthermore, potential impacts of imprisoning on psychical state of prisoners are analysed - prisoners are more often apathetic, they lose social contacts to people out of the prison, they also lose a possibility to decide for themselves and their lives. In theoretical part of thesis there is also Thematic Apperception Test described. It was given to two groups of research participants - a group of convicted men and a group of never convicted men. Thematic Apperception Tests were evaluated by Social Orientation Scale afterwards. Retrieved data were interpreted in exploratory part of thesis.
Intimate relationships of people with schizophrenia

The thesis is dedicated to intimate relationships of people with schizophrenic disorder (F20). The aim of this study was to determine the importance of intimate relationships attributed by women and men with schizophrenia in young adulthood. Their experience, ideals and expectations of partnership were also investigated. The theoretical part is divided into three parts. The first chapter describes the illness of schizophrenia, its characteristics, etiology, epidemiology, symptoms, deficits in cognitive and social functioning as well as current treatments oriented at psychosocial intervention. In the second chapter, the topic of partnerships of common people is presented. The third chapter describes the theme of partnerships in persons with schizophrenic disorder itself. The empirical part is based on qualitative methodology. Semi-structured interviews were undertaken with 11 respondents, investigating intimate relationships and sexuality of people with schizophrenia. The results are properly described and afterwards discussed with the available literature. In the conclusion, it is recommended further research and intervention in social relationships among people with schizophrenia.
Maturity to kindergarten entrance

The purpose of this study is to analyse the level of maturity of children older than two years in the context of their potential integration in the public preschool education system before they reach the age of three years. The first chapter discusses the opinion of the EU Council of the preschool education, its ambition to promote the institutional care in line with the equal opportunities for men and women policy, and the situation in EU member states as regards meeting the 2002 Barcelona goals. The second chapter describes the current legislative and institutional framework in the Czech Republic. It focuses on the applicable legislation, namely the Parental Subsidy Act as amended, and the existing framework of the institutional care in question. The key focus of the third chapter is on children and their needs. The third chapter elaborates on various factors influencing their development such as family situation, age and other individual particularities. The last chapter of the theoretical part is on maturity of a child younger than three years from the point of view of the developmental psychology.
