Detached house, Trojak
Žídek, Vojtěch ; Struhala, Karel (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor´s thesis is to design a family house with low impact on an environement. The thesis has two parts, while the first one deals with structural and architectonical aspect and the second contains solution of building services. The building is located near a forest with a plot featuring terrain with low slope. It is rectangular shape building with a pitched roof and two floors. On the first floor, there is a spacious open space with a kitchen and living room, a hall, a toilet and an utility room. Access to the second floor is through a staircase directly from the hall, where there is a master bedroom, two rooms and a bathroom. Load-bearing walls are designed from a timber frame structure with blown insulation between timbers. Foundations are designed of concrete slab insulated with foam glass. Ceiling on a first floor is from a timber with a suspended ceiling. Windows and entrance door have wooden frame with triple glazing. Pitched roof is a timber structure with a metal roofing. There is no connection to water infrastructure, so a well is designed for drinking water supply, along with a storage for rain water, used for flushing, washing clothes and watering garden. Floor heating and cooling are provided by an ground-water heat pump. Ventilation is provided by a ventilation unit with heat recovery, while fresh air will be supplied to living rooms and extracted from sanitary facilities. In the southern section, roofing contains integrated photovoltaic panels.
The experimental family house
Švorcová, Barbora ; Buchta, Stanislav (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the design of an experimental residential house. The proposed structure has the form of a free-standing dome, which covers a building located inside. The area around the building under the dome creates space for an unconventional winter garden. The construction of the roof was designed and assessed in terms of geometry in two variants, in the shape of a geodesic and ribbed dome, with diameter 24 m and height 12 m. The considered material of the ribbed dome is glued laminated timber. In addition to the wooden one, the geodesic dome was also designed in a steel variant. Within the bachelor‘s thesis, the structural load, limit states and design of the main joints were dealt with. The house under the dome was considered in the form of a study of possible designs. In addition to the traditional light-frame construction, a structure made of panels of cross-laminated timber was also assessed.
