The analysis of the emergence and development of sledge hockey in Czech Republic

This diploma thesis covers origins of the sledge hockey in the Czech Republic. The research methods applied in this thesis are content analysis, controlled interview and case study. The main goal is to analyze the foundation and progress of sledge hockey in the Czech Republic. A partial goal is the elaboration of a case study of a selected sledge hockey club SHK Mustangs Pardubice. The analytical part deals with description of health and physical disabilities of players, impact and importance of physical activities for disabled sportsmen, origins and development of sledge hockey, game rules and also problematics of sledge hockey in general. For the purpose of synthetic part, we conducted the case study consisting of controlled interview with the sledge player of SHK Mustangs Pardubice. The analysis shows that the main two issues of the sledge hockey in the Czech Republic are shortage of new players and inadequate training facilities.

The practical part of this thesis is based on indirect analysis, specifically video-analysis. Title: Development of game combinations in sledge hockey Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to inform the reader about the game sledge hockey. I further search for information about the development of game combinations. I than analyse this information and develop offensive training situations including ending scenarios. Methods: The character of the theoretical part of my thesis is research. The aim is to gather and organise information about sledge hockey and game combinations. Analysis of issues sledge hockey in Southern Bohemia

In my work, based on the studying of technical literature, I have managed to gather the history and rules of sledge hockey, and outline the issues of sledge hockey in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes individual sport skills and methodology of the training. I have registered a yearly training cycle of the team SK České Budějovice and identified its imperfections. I have also proposed solutions in a model of twelve-week complex preparation of the sledge hockey players. This new training plan is going to be implemented by SKV Králové České Budějovice at the end of the sledge hockey season. In case of improvement I suppose following co-operation with this club. I would be glad if this work helped the South Bohemia club in its further activities.
