Facies and stratigraphic architecture in the Upper Turonian of the Jizera region, Bohemian Cretaceous Basin
Bohadlo, Jan ; Uličný, David (advisor) ; Rybár, Samuel (referee)
The late Turonian period (Cretaceous, c. 91.3-89.75 Ma) is well-known for evidence of cooling of the supergreenhouse climate (e.g. Wiese & Voigt, 2002; Jarvis et al., 2015) and experiencing frequent transgressive-regressive episodes associated with climatically driven (e.g. Simmons et al.,2020) low- magnitude eustatic sea-level changes (e.g. Plint et al., 2022). During the Turonian, the filling of the newly formed Bohemian Cretaceous Basin was characterised by repetitive progradation of deltaic bodies and coeval shorelines (Uličný et al., 2009). Recently, marked cyclicity in siliciclastic input was described in hemipelagic strata in the central part of the basin and interpreted as cycles of precession (18-23 kyr) modulated by c. 100 kyr eccentricity (Chroustová et al., 2021). Within this context, the study aims to elucidate sedimentological processes and stratigraphy in the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin in the late Turonian, particularly focusing on the proximal and distal areas of the Jizera region. Through detailed correlation of proximal to distal facies in thin (first metres) stratigraphic units between outcrops, borehole sections and well logs, the study extended the depositional model of the deltas with adjacent shorefaces of Uličný (2001) when described cross-bedded sandstones formed by large...
Bank stabilizotion of Letovice dam
Mika, Jiří ; Pelikán, Petr (referee) ; Pelikán,, Petr (referee) ; Šlezingr, Miloslav (advisor)
The master's thesis is focused on the statistical evaluation of the most frequent level in the tank for 10 years, determining the abrasion terminant, setting retreat shoreline and bank stabilization proposals in the area of interest Svitavice on the water reservoir Letovice. The thesis consists of an accompanying report and a technical report. The accompanying report contains basic technical and administrative data, hydrology ratio and others conditions in the area of interest. In addition, the accompanying report contains a description of production and activities in wide surroundings of the tank. The technical report contains statistical evaluation of the most frequent water surface in the tank for 10 years, hydro technical calculation to determine the prognosis of the bank line recession, visualization proposal of biotechnical measures. In conclusion, an estimate cost of the proposed biotechnical measures is calculated.
