Shaft spillway capacity depending on flow stages
Monsport, Jakub ; Jobánek, Stanislav (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
The first part of this bachelor's thesis is drafted as a search. Summarizes information about spillways and in more detail focuses on shaft spillways and describes not only their construction but also flow stages in a funnel, shaft, elbow and at the beginning of the tunnel. The second part is practical and consists of the measurement of Q/h characteristics on the model of shaft spillway with some modifications.
Flow structure in shaft spillway area of of Labská dam
Šváb, Jiří ; Pařílková, Jana (referee) ; Zachoval, Zbyněk (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is divided into literary research and practical part (own measurement). The content of the literary research is a description of the shaft spillway, the Labská dam and the measuring equipment. The practical part is focused on measurement of the horizontal velocity, flow distribution and water surface elevation on the shaft spillway physical model. The results are horizontal velocity for two levels, water surface elevation and flow distribution.
Shaft spillway water tunnel capacity increasing
Monsport, Jakub ; Jobánek, Stanislav (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
In the first part of this diploma thesis, the problem of supercritical flow is described, as what phenomena occur during it and what dangers it brings. The research part continues with a list of structures in the supercritical regime and their modifications, which should eliminate the danger occurring during supercritical flow. The second part of the diploma thesis is practical and presents the measurement of the course of the water level in the tunnel of the shaft overflow on a physical model with different modifications of the initial section of the tunnel due to the search for the most suitable modification, which would ensure a sufficient reduction of dangerous phenomena occurring during supercritical flow. As part of the practical part, in addition to measurements on the physical model, calculations in numerical modelling were also performed using the Flow-3D program.
