Průběh porodu a puerperia u klisen
STAROBOVÁ, Hana
The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the course of childbirth and puerperium in mares. First, it deals with sexual activity in mares, including an analysis of indivi-dual important factors that affect it. Furthermore, the work focuses on fertilization and pregnancy of mares and their disorders. It outlines both the causes and the course and treatment options. The main part focuses on the birth itself, its complica-tions and subsequently the postpartum period. A survey of the course of parturition and puerperium was carried out as part of the work, which was to find out the characteristics of pregnant mares, the course of pregnancy and parturition, complications during and after parturition and basic in-formation about the foal born. The survey found that the most popular breed of horse among Czech respon-dents is the Czech Warmblood and they are mostly used for hobby riding. Mares are usually older than 8 years and it is their 3rd or subsequent pregnancy. The course of the birth was mostly problem-free and completed within one hour. Subsequently, the survey addressed the postpartum period, when it was found that the mares did not suffer from clinical signs or inflammation to a greater extent. The foals born were mostly stallions, who were largely independent, so they did not need help with the first drink and the departure of the pitch took place within a maximum of 4 hours.
Sexual satisfaction in people with spinal cord injuries engaged in regular physical activity
Kuncipálová, Žaneta ; Prokešová, Eva (advisor) ; Půlpán, David (referee)
Title: Sexual satisfaction in people with spinal cord injuries engaged in regular physical activity. Objectives: The main goal of this work is to determine the level of sexual satisfaction in people with spinal cord injuries, who perform regular physical activity. Methods: A battery of questions was used to find out the satisfaction of people with spinal cord injuries, who regularly perform physical activity. The WHOQOL 100, PASID, LATA, SAS SAQ questionnaires were used as basic for creating battery of questions. Data collection was completely anonymous and took place online. The survey involved 21 respondents with spinal cord injuries (18 men and 3 women) aged 18 to 75 years. All were included in the research because they met the criteria for performing regular physical activity. The results of the survey were processed into graphs and tables and supplemented by a written commentary. Results: It was found that for a majority of respondents their sexual life is important and for most of them the sexual life is a source of pleasure. Almost half of the respondents consider their sexual life satisfactory. However , less than half of the respondents state that not all their needs are met. The research suggests that satisfaction with amount of physical activity performed may be related to higher quality...
Physiological mechanisms of aging in maless of model insect species
PROVAZNÍK, Jan
Trade-off between reproduction and longevity is a widely accepted fact, yet proximate mechanisms are scarcely understood. In this work I tested differences in lifespan between diapause and non-diapause males of a model insect, the linden bug Pyrrhocoris apterus. Also the role of juvenile hormone in regulation of longevity and immunity (measured by relative phenoloxidase activity) was assessed. In addition to that, I examined if juvenile hormone is the mediator of reduction in longevity induced by mating.
Stimulation of breeding of choose frog species in human care.
SRB, Ondřej
The aim of this work is to investigate the effectiveness of noninvasive stimulation of reproduction for two species of tropical frogs. I choose Epipedobates anthonyi and Ranitomeya lamasi as model organisms. Stimulation was been done by playback recordings of mating calls and mirror, which was placed inside terrarium. I try to perform as most realistic imitation of competitive male as possible. Presence of male should provoke other males to greater reproductive effort. Results of this research show that males may by stimulated and activity increased. Results of this reserch may be used in captive programs of anuras with limited number of available individuals.
