- 6 - Abstract Title: Comparison of performance tests results determined during kayak spiroergometry with achieved kayak paddling performance. Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine relationships between functional parameters values found during kayak spiroergometry and sport performance at 1000 meters distance, and how are these relationships going to change based on training period. Methods: To determine statistical dependence between sport performance at 1000 meters distance and choosen factors of sport performance, the correlation research was used - as a variable-dependent value the final result of sport performance at 1000 meters distance was used, as a variable-independent amounts functional parameters values found during kayak spiroergometry were used. To discover the statistical dependence methods of Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used. Results: General level of kayak-athletes from testing file indicated by functional parameters values and demonstrated by kayak spiroergometry performance depends on kayak- athlete's level of sport performance at 1000 meters distance in prepared-training period only, when importance for general condition is emphasized. We did not discover the same phenomenon based on pre-racing period testing results. Sport performance at...

Biomechanical aspect of speed canoe technic
Štryncl, Radim ; Šifta, Petr (advisor) ; Šorfová, Monika (referee) ; Cirkl, David (referee)
Name of the thesis: Biomechanical aspects of speed canoeing techniques in the context of asymmetric loading of the postural system Aim of the thesis: The main aim of the work was, based on theoretical knowledge and own empirical research, to analyze the biomechanical aspects of the technique of riding a C1 speed canoe in the context of asymmetric loading of the postural system . . Solution method: Based on the knowledge of functional anatomy and with the use of analyzes of the real riding of the top athletes (N = 12), the kinesiological aspects of riding the C1 speed canoe were investigated in the preliminary research. Biomechanical aspects of paddling were further investigated using 3D kinematic analysis (N = 9). Influence of long-term training efforts on differences in muscle cross-sections mm. iliopsoas a mm. quadratus lumborum on both sides of the body was examined by magnetic resonance imaging (N = 5). The muscle sections were performed in the transverse plane at the level of L 3, L 4. The studies were conceived as pilot due to their time, organizational and financial demands. Results: Riding a C1 speed canoe is a locomotively complex movement pattern during which the postural system is exposed to two types of asymmetric loads. Both are related to the geometry of motion. First of all, it is a...

Krpatová, Lucie ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Boháč, Jan (referee)
Title: Comparison of a succes rate of sprint canoeists in junior and senior categories based on their international results. Aims: The aim of this work is to find out the potential future success of Czech junior medal winners in the adult category. Methods: We have chosen the method of data analysis to describe the course of a given sport career. The data was obtained by processing the results of the European Junior and Under 23 Championships from the period between 1996 and 2019, the World Junior and Under 23 Championships from the period between 1996 and 2019, the European Championship from the period between 1999 and 2019, the World Championship 1999 - 2019 and the Olympic Games 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. Results: The analysis of the results suggests that the training system and financial support dedicated to flatwater racing introduced in 2006 helped to significantly improve the success of Czech junior athletes at international events in all examined categories (men kayakers, canoeists, women kayakers). The analysis further showed that the success of the examined groups within senior categories has different tendencies. While the group of kayakers shows a small percentage of career termination under the age of 23 (23,5 %) and a relatively high success rate of winning medals in...

Hájek, Šimon ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Opatrná Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: Evaluation of postural stability of sprint kayak athletes. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare the level of thy dynamic postural stability of sprint kayakers with healthy population, which don't do any sport regularly with computerized posturography on the NeuroCom SMART EquiTest device. Methods: It is quantitative cross-sectional study. 24 sprint kayakers (experimental group) participated in this study and 40 individuals (control group), which don't do any sport on competitive level. The dynamic postural stability was evaluated with computerized posturography on the NeuroCom SMART EquiTest device in the Laboratory of Applied Kinesiology at the Department of Physiotherapy in Charles University Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Every participant was tested once in all seven tests - - Sensory Organization Test, Motor Control Test, Adaptation Test, Limits of Stability, Rythmic Weight Shift, Weight Bearing Squat, Unilateral Stance. Data was recorded and processed by the NeuroCom Balance Manager Software and then converted into Microsoft Excel 365 programe. Data was statistically analysed by Shapiro - Wilk test, Mann - Whitney test, Pair t - test and Cohen's d. Results: Due to low number of statistically significant differences, we couldn't say that sprint kayakers have better...

Klemperer, Otto ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Hottmar, Pavel (referee)
Title: Determining the dependence between the selected common strength tests and a field test at flatwater canoeing athletes Aims: The aim of the study is to determine the dependence between the common strength tests and a field test on a flat water kayak K1. Methods: We used quantitative research with testing and measurement methods to provide answers and information about dependence between the common strength tests and the field test on water. The ensemble consists of 8 random selected kayakers who participate in Czech Cups at flatwater canoeing. The endurance strength of the upper limbs and torso was measured by repetitions for 2 minutes in a bench- press exercise and lying lift exercise with half of their own weight. Short-term endurance was measured on a flatwater kayak on a flat water for 2 minutes with flying start. The relationships between endurance strength of upper extremities and short-term endurance at flatwater canoeing athletes were determined by using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The relationship determined between selected general strength tests and field test at 8 random selected kayakers was compared with relationship determined at 23 kayakers, all selected from final A at Czech championship 2019. Results: Using the Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, we found...

Davídek, Pavel ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Kolář, Pavel (referee) ; Matoulek, Martin (referee)
INTRODUCTION: The aim of this thesis is to identify the effect of trunk stabilization training based on Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) on maximum kayak ergometer power output and reported self-disability in the shoulder girdle area. METHOD: Thirty flatwater kayakers of both genders (17 - 25 years old) were randomly divided into two groups. Crossover design was used for this study. Subjects in the experimental group (group A) integrated DNS exercises into standard flatwater training during the first phase. The control group (group B) conducted only common flat water training at the same time. After 6 weeks, the groups were switched. Then group B underwent the same DNS exercise with the same intensity and the same time. The intervention was the same for both phases and took 6 weeks. Group A performed only standard off-season training during the second phase. The maximum power output on kayak ergometer was measured three times (before study, after 6 weeks and after 12 weeks). Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) were analyzed at the same time. RESULTS: Initially, no significant differences in maximum power output on kayak ergometer and the DASH questionnaire score were identified between the groups. During the first phase the experimental group (group A) improved the maximum...
