Solving structural models using the finite element method
Handlová, Marcela ; Martinásek, Josef (referee) ; Vlk, Zbyněk (advisor)
The work deals with the analysis of plane structures using the finite element method. Matlab programs are created to perform the calculations required for analysis with beam and plane four-node finite elements. With their use, a load-bearing bridge structure acting as a seven-span continuous beam is then analysed. By simplifying this structure, two models are created. The first model has a constant cross-section, the second one has haunched beams. The models are analyzed using finite elements of variable sizes and in the end, the results for different elements and models are compared.
