Comparison of numerically computed and experimentally measured response of a rotor system Rotor Kit 4 with a shaft weakened by a notch excited by a centrifugal force

Shaft of a rotor system Rotor Kit 4 (RK 4) is weakened by a transverse notch. The response of a rotor system RK 4 with a shaft weakened by a notch excited by imbalance force is numerically computed on the basis of theory for transverse open crack. The stability of periodic vibration of a rotor system RK 4 was investigated by means of Floquet theory. Comparison of experimentally measured stiffnesses of a shaft, vibration responses and trajectories of a centre of a shaft is used for judgement of the computational model of rotor system RK4.
