Some propaganda campaigns in the 50s of the 20th century in the regional press

This thesis gives describes the propaganda's campaign of Číhošť's miracle, Jan Buchal, "fight with potato beetle" and of the Babice's case, in the regional press in the 50s of the 20th century. At first, the thesis describes the historical contexts of this era, particularly changes in policy after the onset of Communist Party after February 1948. There is also introduced the situation in Czechoslovak media in 1950. For this thesis is important the capter about preparing process before propaganda's campaign - there is the demonstration of "campaign with Milada Horáková". Then, from third capture, there is the analysis of the nationwide and regional press. Every propaganda is being explored in local press - Jiskra, Pravda or Nová svoboda. Then is being explored in local press in diffrent part of the Czechoslovakia - Průboj and as well in the nationwide press - Rudé právo. The analysis of the articles provides an overview of the propaganda in the regional press in the 50s. Beside the analysis of the articles and newspaper, this thesis is about comparison between individual analysis. There is the comparasion between diffrent forms of regional press and then regional press beetween nationwide press. In the end of this thesis is comparison between individual propaganda's campaign, too.
The press in Jáchymov and its surroundings in 1936-1958

The diploma thesis deals with the regional press in Jáchymovsko between 1936 and 1958. Its aim is to map the development of the press in this locality. It approaches the history of the place, social, economic and demographic aspects for a defined period, which is important to outline for understanding the linkages with the press. The first part of the thesis presents the basic data about the locality from a geographic and historical point of view. It also shows the period after the First World War, the emergence of Czechoslovakia and the new delimitation of the state borders associated with the change of status of the German population in the border area, the thirties of the twentieth century and the Second World War, after which the redefinition of the frontiers of Czechoslovakia took place. Then the end of the Second World War and the demographic change in the Sudetes, the crucial year of 1948 and the onset of the communist regime, are mapped out. Magazine Prague in 1970-1979

This master's thesis entitled "Magazine Praha in 1970-1979" deals with the monthly magazine Praha, which was published by the National Committee of the City of Prague in the period from 1970 to 1991. This was a regional magazine for the inhabitants of Prague as well as for visitors to the capital, which kept its readers abreast of current events in the metropolis. The main topics covered were city administration and construction, urban transport development, Prague culture and history. The introductory chapter covers the historical context - the situation in Czechoslovakia in the 1970s, the system of state administration with a focus on the administration of the city of Prague, and the media environment of that time. The following chapter describes the emergence, development, characteristics, and thematic focus of this periodical and the position of the editorial staff within the framework of the Prague National Committee. The aim of this thesis is to provide a detailed description of the magazine's first ten years - with particular analysis being given to the contents of the magazine, its internal arrangement, continuity and the transformation of the individual columns and main themes, the composition of the editorial staff and the layout. Development of Periodical Press in Pelhřimov Region during Years 1948-1989

The aim of this dissertation is to characterize the development of the press in the district of Pelhřimov between the years 1948 and 1989 on the geographical, political, social and cultural background in Czechoslovakia as well as this concrete region. On the ground of available material the dissertation also adumbrates the management of a regional newspaper office and the work there. The attention is paid on the main district periodical. The first chapter of the dissertation offers a picture of the historical background of that time as well as the management of printed newspapers in Czechoslovakia. The regional affairs are set in a deeper context. The second chapter devotes a detailed description of political, economical, social, cultural and sports events in the district of Pelhřimov and their reflexion in the press. The main constituent of this chapter is an overview of the district periodicals raging from Týdeník Cesta vysočinou, Hlas Vysočiny, Vesnické noviny Pelhřimovska, Pelhřimovské noviny to Nástup and Hlas Vysočiny in 1990. The homeland-study anthology Northern Moravia

The diploma thesis "The Anthology of National Geography and History North Moravia" is handling the issue of publishing this book title which is a significant representative of its kind. Anthologies of National Geography and History have a unique position among other printed documents. And in addition, the anthology North Moravia is, as the only one of its kind, published in the whole Czech Republic almost continuously from 1957 when the museums of Zábřeh, Mohelnice and Loštice started to publish it together. The diploma thesis presents the anthology, introduces its 50 years history, characteristics of this type of a journal. It is going to refer to the specifics which differentiate the anthology from other journals. The thesis includes a quantitative research, in the form of a content analysis which examines the content of the anthology in the course of 50 years. The thesis follows processed topics, regular columns, types of contributions and development of the anthology in the mentioned period. It wants to answer the questions whether such anthology is able to inform - through popular form - readers from among experts as well as among layman public about geographical themes, whether it is its aim to educate as well, what is its reaction to current events and whether it is able to attract nowadays...

This thesis "The Characteristic of Weekly newspaper Krkonošská pravda " i s focused on the district newspaper of Trutnov district. Krkonošská pravda based in 1960-1990. This thesis describes the first ten years of this weekly newspaper, which means it is focused on the issues from the years 1960-1969. Krkonošská pravda was political journal published by OV KSČ and ONV in Trutnov. The work focuses on the function of the district newspaper, its content and graphic design. The image of the border Cheb region in the local press since the normalization period until the fall of comunism

Main goal of this thesis is research of everyday life specifics in Cheb region as a region on the west border of the former Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and eventual interception of these specifics in regional or national press in last twenty years before the Velvet Revolution. The base for the research became the weekly magazine Hraničář as the only regional newspaper published throughout the whole studied period and the research was conducted using searches of the sample chosen in advance (years 1970, 1971, 1980, 1981, 1989, 1990). Any predicative facts about the local newspapers, the composition of the editorial staff and possible editors impact (respectively presumed inability to influence) on the newspaper content in a system of directive management and reflections of the Chebsko region as a border region in the immediate vicinity of the Iron Curtain were of interest of the research. The core of the work is to draw a picture of everyday life of "ordinary" citizens of the region with regard to the above facts and focusing on different aspects of life in society such as the local economy, agriculture or cultural, sport and social life in the city. The Changing of media in region Broumovsko from 1945 till 2010

This thesis titled "Media transformation in the Broumov region between 1945 and 1949" looks at the development of print media after World War II in the Broumov region. To help paint a clearer picture of the topic, the first part maps out the situation of the media before 1945. The population of the area was demographically mixed and Germans were a clear majority. It was consequently difficult for the Czech minority to influence public life and altogether impossible for the Czech press to publish. The thesis aims to capture the transformation of German media production towards a Czech one. To explain wider circumstances of the time period, the second part outlines the socio - political situation in Czechoslovakia in the years following World War II. This part also briefly describes how print media was run and administered by the government between 1945 and 1949. The third part examines in more detail the situation in the Broumov region after World War II. It describes such events as the expulsion of Germans, the settling of a new population, the confiscation of German property and the process of creating a new citizen society.
